Oceanic presence?

Hi everyone,

I am on the disheartening search for an online gaming community to replace my dwindling, awesome guild of 5+ years. Having listened to the podcast for quite a while now and by lurking in these forums, I'm wondering if GWJ could fill the need.

Apart from a-l-l the other things I'm looking for, I'm wondering if you have an active Oceanic contingent in games such as GW2, Neverwinter, Rift and looking forward to Wildstar please?

Much appreciated!
~Sufi

There are several people in Japan, at least one in Singapore, and a bunch in Australia, that frequent these boards. And that's what I can think of from the top of my head. I'm sure that, if you stick around, you'll find friends to play games with.

I know there are at least two goodjers based in Sinagpore, Falchion and Avggeek. In Japan, there are at least a couple (mwdowns for sure). And the Aussies are too numerous to count.

Can't speak for the other games, but regarding GW2, we do have a pretty active guild. I'm on GMT+4, so not exactly Oceanic (although I *am* in the Indian Ocean, so kinda counts, right? ). There's Falchion who plays fairly regularly, and he's based in Singapore. Think there are a few Australians. I myself am often online during my lunch breaks which could coincide with your evenings.

In any case, you should definitely jump on the GWJ bandwagon. Join the Steam group, for starters, make some friends. As for GW2 specifically, see the guild organization thread and the catch all. Or if you're feeling lazy, just PM me a character name or your ID, and I'll send you an invite to the guild. And then you can just jump in, promise we don't bite!

As for the other games, you can basically start reading the catch alls dedicated to them, start sending invites to other goodjers, post in threads. Just jump in, it's nice out here.

Hi Sufi! I've been on a bit of a general gaming hiatus of sorts for the past couple of months, playing games but not very often. But I have been playing a little bit of Neverwinter here and there. Having said that, I never ended up finding a Oceanic guild I liked, so if you do find a solid group, I'd be interested in hearing about it!

Feel free to friend me up on any of the platforms in my signature, I have an auto-accept policy for anyone in the GWJ community. If you see me online and want to play anything, I'm generally pretty keen.

And yes there are definitely other Oceanic goodjers about the place, although I'm not sure how many frequent the MMO forums. I know there was an Oceanic GWJ Steam group, but I'm at work and can't check right at the moment.

I love Oceanic Presence, but sharks are waaaay OP.

If anyone wants to pod up, I'm a level 22 Orca lobstermancer (like I was gonna play anything else).

Eleima is our resident GW2 Oceanic/other-side-of-the-planet time-zone officer. We usually have at least a few people on playing around oceanic evening (aka east coast morning). They also happen to be great people.

I should really play some more GW2... too many MMOs, not enough time.

I'm thinking about getting into a new MMO for the first time in a decade. Are there any Oceanic players still around and MMORPGing? What games?

I play GW2 every now and then, although rarely, and I'm schedule to move back to Western Europe in November... :/
