The Last of Us [SPOILERS]

Well this sucks. Now I'm worried that I don't have the ability to read peoples expressions.

I'd have been angry at Joel's response had Ellie told him to let her go. The fact that the Fireflies didn't even wake her up to tell her the situation and ask permission is what set off the red flags. And in the end, even though I think she knows he's lying to her, she does trust him enough to believe that he's lying for a good reason.

I'm an old fogey and don't have an image hosting account anywhere, so I can't post the screenshot, but this topic just came up listed right next to "Clicker Games Click-All" for me.

That is all.

I played this and Tomb Raiser back to back, and the difference in emotional tone is striking. While both tend to the "murder factory" by the end, I found that Last of us managed to make the deaths more impactful, re-enforcing the idea that Joel is a broken man and in many way a monster. In Tomb Raider Laura had one bout of "Oh God I killed someone" before becoming fine with truly mass murder.

Both truly great games, but I think that the tension and trauma of death is an aspect of this game that doesn't get enough play, given its peers.
