I want your copy of the Odyssey.

Give it the Romeo+Juliet treatment and see what you get?

Or the Ethan Hawke version of Hamlet

Mmmmmm, pretty trailer. I am tentatively interested in a Final Fantasy game again.

I'm most impressed at how similar the rendering looks to Advent Children. It's crazy how far processing power has come in less than a decade.

Every time they're in the car I kept thinking "bros, bros, bros, bros." Given what they showed in the trailer, I'm not sure if you actually drive around or if that's just some sort of cutscene only thing. It might be kind of fun or at least amusing. It'll all depend on the characters and their banter.

I wonder what the main character gender ratio will end up being ultimately. That trailer pretty much just showed a bunch of bros, so... that would be quite different from the XIII games. I can't imagine the game just having 4 main characters who are all guys. I need to watch that trailer again more closely.

tuffalobuffalo, you posted pretty much everything I had to say about it. In the main Final Fantasy thread, SpacePPoliceman said it looked like the Square-Enix version of Entourage, and I think that's a terrific comparison.

It's a beautiful game and seems to be doing some neat things, but I'm disappointed that there's literally one woman in the entire trailer, and she's a love interest waiting to be rescued who doesn't have a line of dialog. This from the series that has had some of the strongest, most interesting female characters in gaming.

That is a gigantic image, ccess. Maybe resize that thing?

Can I post more K-pop in this thread?

I see a Xenahort cameo in there too.

Oi, that's one hell of a bishie-palooza.

This makes me wonder if, back when this was Final Fantasy XIII Versus, if this was supposed to be the male yang to the Lightning-led yin of the mainline title.

That's an interesting perspective. It's also possible the male dominated cast has roots in the Kingdom Hearts team being primarily responsible for this game.

They're sexist?

I feel like the odd one out here; I watched that trailer, and other than the graphics being pretty, nothing about it held any appeal for me. If anything it looked like a bland Xenoblade-wannabe.

Just call me Killjoy-Chris. Maybe that'll be my new forum name.

Demyx would probably be able to answer that better than I. But I don't think it's intentional, so casually?

I mean, KH is a series of road trips of a young male with anthropomorphic male animals. The main group of antagonists is 12 guys and 1 woman. The lead female character still hasn't moved past damsel in waiting.

To their credit, they did a good job with Aqua in BBS, but the franchise as a whole is very male. Although not in a dude-bro testosterone fueled way.

Speaking of which, the possible love interest from the trailer looks similar to Namine from KH.

Yes, this is right. The vast majority of the original (non-Disney) characters are male and Aqua in a spinoff game is the only time a woman has been playable in the main story (she's also the best playable character for reasons unrelated to her gender )

But, like a number of Square's productions, it is majority male in a way that's at least partially intended to appeal to young women by featuring a herd of attractive young men and including romantic overtones in their relationships (though nothing overt).

FFXV certainly gives a similar vibe.

Well, judging on this image that's been released since the first trailer...

If those are all playable characters, two ladies and ten dudes including the cameo of Altair. I don't think all those dudes will be playable, though. The question then becomes, will both females be playable? Will we have whittled down to exclusively Aeris and Tifa archetypes for ladies?

Always

Sorry. I hit preview to see if it would resize to thread dimensions, but either you're using mobile (where I don't think it resizes, or simply takes eight million years) or it doesn't resize in all browsers.

Changed it to a link.

Seemed okay to me, but I'm not on 3G like some people, apparently.

Just to note a positive, FF games have always been long road trips, so it's funny to seem them making it literal, Vinny/E/Turtle/Johnny Drama vibe notwithstanding.

So it's a Xenoblade-like game from the Kingdom Hearts team? Xenohart Chronicles, anyone? Yeah?

Yeah?

Xehanort, and I'd play it. I'm just glad that Kingdom Hearts III is being made by the Birth by Sleep people >_>

Final Xenokingdom XV!

No, you need to use this: http://www.the-pause-button.com/squa...

It will be called:

Kingdom Hearts X-Axis Pro Bono: IN:divisible

Oh wow, I've somehow never run across that before, Demyx. That's hilarious!

That's what I get for making a joke about a series I've never played.

His name is supposed to anagram into "no heart" so you're close enough, I'm just pedantic :p

Don't play it BTW, I bet you'd hate it

It's ok. I've played nearly all of them and I butchered that name a few posts earlier.

If you had told me this was another trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles I wouldn't have been surprised.
