So a thing happened when I walked into the store to pick up my PS4. My brain pulled a fast one on me and I "accidentally" plumped for a PS4 Pro instead.
So.. woop!
Also, my loopback audio cable from monitor to line-in on my PC works a treat, so I can use my PC Headset for audio from the PS without having to unplug anything. I may at a later date look into some form of physical USB switch device, but for now this will work dandy.
Installing RDR2 now, just about finished disc 1. Feels weird being on a system where I only have 1 game
But Yay, I'm one of you now, and you can't get rid of me! (unless you're all really mean).
Woo! Welcome to the club. Let us know how you like RDR2! (Admittedly, I haven't played it or the first one.)
Inspired by this conversation and others like it, I made a new thread: New Console Buyer FAQ and Catch-All. The goal is to make a place to direct people that answers all of these questions already. Save some typing.
Let me know what I overlooked in the PS4 section!
So I'm an idiot and forgot to cancel my RDR2 ps4 pro preorder. Need to return it, which it's from Target so no big deal.
I need to pay more attention.

Out of curiosity why are you returning it? I'm debating the PS4 Pro right now.
Holy balls man. RDR2... enough being said in the dedicated thread I guess. Whew.
RDR2 acronym is killing me. I can only see R2D2 when read.

Oh, I managed to find a regular pro a few weeks ago, and even I can't justify two of one console. Well, maybe 2 Switches.

Ah. Curious if you didn't consider the upgrade to the Pro worth it.

If I had one, I probably wouldn't bother. But for 1st purchase, I just went straight to the pro.

So this was on me. Toss in the install disc for RDR2 and left to do stuff for the day. Came back and still have to install more data off the play disc too. Hmph

Yeah, not a fan of this.
I think it took me 4 hours to get Spiderman installed.
Buying digitally, I had the game downloaded, installed, and playing in about 90 minutes.
Normally I am at digital only person, but I bought a PS4 for the soul reasons of playing Spiderman in RDR2. As such I think there’s a decent chance I’ll just sell the system when I’m finished with those two games, and I think I can get a lot better price if I bundle it with Spiderman and RDR2.

I say mostly I’m digital except that I can convert some meager card points into a few bucks off a physical disc.
Yeah, normally I go digital. But I just bought the ps4 from gamestop so it was cheaper to get spidey used from them.

I just really want to know how you play Spiderman in RDR2 because that might be the only way I'd consider any interest in either of those games
So my PS3 quit like.. half a year ago? I decided to clean out my games and give them to a friend who has a functioning PS3. I had no idea I had that many games. I mean, nothing compared to most folks on here, I'm sure, but I thought I had maybe 5-6 games. It was more like 15, including some I had no idea I owned (COD:Ghosts for example, which I've never played).
Weird.
Side note, are PS3 games even worth anything anymore? My friend doesn't game much, and has little girls so is unlikely to play most of the titles I gave them in front of the girls.

Depends on the game, but mostly no. Digital distribution and a parade of remasters has diluted a lot of the value of gen 7 games. Most games just aren't scarce like they used to be.

Unless you have some odd ball JRPGs or some collectors edition I would say no.
Well many of the digital games are overpriced so I think you might be able to get something for them if you are willing to sell the games for less than digital cost plus shipping.
Are gen 7 games really overpriced digitally? Most seem to be pretty cheap. How much can you save? And is it worth it?
I slept in the guest room last night because my daughter came in town and decided to sleep in our bed with my wife. I discovered about a dozen 360 games in a drawer that I didn’t know we had anymore.
They didn’t seem more convenient than the slew of 360 games that pop up in my library whenever I’m browsing for something to play, whether the drawer gamers were BC or not.
My thought was to post them for free to a god Goodjer home, as long as someone wants them all. Don’t really want to deal with piecing them out, and maybe someone has a 360 in a game room that could use a collection.
It’s insane how hard it seems to be to get rid of physical discs. I thought they were gone, but they keep popping up because we would stash games we were done with. They weren’t worth selling during the generation, let alone now.
I'm only asking because if they don't want them, I might suggest they sell them for $5 a pop or something. 12 games at $5 each is still $60 (I think that's about how many I gave them).
I don't want money from them, they have done really well by me in the past (gave me a TV, an inflatable bed, some other things in the past just because they had no use for them).

We have dozens of 360 games I don't know what to do with. Cleaning out our basement, I found boxes of old PC game discs. Same problem. I've been torn on physical copies of PS4 games vs. digital. On the one hand, I have been able to sell some PS4 games for a fair amount if I don't wait too long. On the other hand, we're already accumulating older sports titles that are basically worthless now. But I can't bring myself to just throw them away. Goodwill? I have no idea.

Hydraulic press.
Or, if you want to go old school, "Will It Blend?"
I saw on PSN tonight God if War is $50, regular price. Honestly I could maybe stand to wait until Xmas break although I did have a casual gamer acquaintance gush to me over the weekend about loving this game so much he platinumed it.
I just finished it last night. I doubt I can be bothered to plat it, I did enjoy it alot.
GoW is definitely one of the few games I've gone to the trouble of platinum-ing. Very good game.
