Shall we say A Harvest Swap in Late August/Early September to give time for folks to make things and Bonnonon's garlic to grow?

Woo! I'm in. I make shinys. Last round was marbles in fused/wrapped sterling wire as pendants or keychains. Next time I'm thinking origami silver pendants.

What would the ship date be?

I would like to particpate, but it will depend on when we do the exchange.

Or I need to figure out a new craft...

Kittylexy is tentatively interested, if not in this one, then in the next.

I need to think of something that isn't so fine-motor-y.

I'm in and definitely want some Bonnonon garlic--and also need plenty of time to create--so, let's see what his best date is and take it from there.

edited to try the em dash instead, hope I did that right!

It is a group decision. When would folks like it to be due? Or shall we make it a Summer Swap?

I vote for late May to June. Enough after my spring festivals to focus on this.

I will make someone a handcrafted game of some sort -- something of appropriate scale for the timeframe. Like, probably not Merchant of Venus. More like a nice wooden copy of Melee.

I think twice a year is nice, so a midsummer timing seems right. I'll vote for that.

Bonnonon, I'm a garlic junkie. I've never grown my own, so I'm a bit fascinated by those who do. I may have gotten a little overly excited. I find your clay tile idea to be exciting too!

Unfortunately the garlic is not pulled until early August, cured and ready to ship until September, but the reason I asked was in part due to garlic scapes. I thought I could make dehydrated garlic scapes for soups, but that would not be ready until late-June.

I am also starting to do work in clay again and think I might make game inspired tiles for bathrooms, or to be framed.

Time frame is not a big deal, because I could do a different project. What we should be figuring out is how many times a year we plan on doing a craft swap so we can space them apart.

If you want garlic SILLYrabbit, just let me know. I do not have any pickled, but I should have some ready by next September. I currently have some garlic I could send you are well.

*edit* to clarify which rabbit

Changed to a summer swap as per folks requests. Shall we aim for Summer solstice/Winter Solstice dates?

that works for me.

Sounds good to me!

Upsadaisy as Summer is almost here.

I'd be happy to join in.

As posted here, I make things out of sheet metal. I'd be willing to make something custom for whomever I am paired with (is that how it works?).

FSeven, we usually make 1 for everyone who is in the swap.

Upsaidasiy again for new info.

Ahh okay. Now to come up with an idea. GWJ keychains with either a GWJ logo or a keychain for each person with their username? Heck I could even make something on an individual basis (you send me an idea, I make it). Really anything out of metal.

Any ideas of what you guys/gals might like?

I look forward to the next swap. I am doing some more research on if I am truly allowed to send the garlic to the usa. https://epermits.aphis.usda.gov/manual/index.cfm?action=cirReportP&PERMITTED_ID=10577315

It seems like I should be able to, but some of the guards are a bit picky.

I may have to buy an ice cream cone before entering the border line up. (my sure fire way to always be let through without inspection or paying duty).

If I am not allowed I will send pickled garlic or pickled garlic scapes.

I'm intrigued, how does ice cream get you past inspection?

Ice cream makes you look like a day tourist

FSeven, I like suprizes.

I'm in for an early September swap if we're still open for new swappers. Winter was hats; this time I'll do a nice bag for your electronics, or a custom can/coffee cup cozy.

I've made kindle and DS cases before:

(If you're not a 9 year old girl, you don't need to expect pink and sparkly... unless that's what you want. Also, I clearly need to work on my photography skills.)

Some can/cup cozies as examples:

LOVE the items Katy!!!

Awesome stuff. I want to participate in this but I'm not sure yet what I'll be doing. Some kind of shiny bauble things.

I'm still in and really excited!! Katy, those cozies are so cool! Tagua nut necklaces are still waiting to be created (and I need to work on a better clasp). Solstice is sneaking up on us (Summer is coming!) so, what date do we all want to aim for?

Those look wonderful, Katy! Those electronics cases are fabulous.

Let's try for Labor Day. That gives folks time to create and garlic to grow

I have been cutting garlic scapes all night... 6 hours strait and I now have enough scapes to fill 25 jars. I am only half way through my supply of garlic scapes. 3 hours I spent picking the scapes off the plants in return for the 60 pounds of scapes, then 6 hours cutting them. I still have to pickle them!!! It is a good thing my family and friends like them so much otherwise I might be tempted to not do it!

I must say that I am incredibly curious about your garlic Bonnonon. You seem to have created some garlic junkies here.

OK folks, if you would like something other than a coffee cup/can cozy, I need to know what size electronics case/pouch suits you best. If you have a color preference, let me know that as well.
