I'm coming to the realization this morning that the game I'm most looking forward to next gen is Titanfall. I don't think the year of exclusivity will push me to an Xbone, but it does have me thinking.

Same here.. that easily between the two was the game the made me happy in the pants. Oddly enough... number two was the new 3DS Zelda.. and number three was... well.. nothing really.

This may sound really dumb, but as someone who loves the 360 controller. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around using the ps4 controller for all multiplatform games. I may not be upgrading my PC for a long time so it could come down to me buying 95% of games on a console...I don't think I could stomach them all on that controller.

PS: I really want Titanfall too.

Spoiler:

my good Cole McGrath was resurrected by that lightning bolt!

I think Second Son is evidence we're done with Cole. Frankly, I'm excited to play a different hero/villain with a different set of skills from that team. Infamous 1 & 2 were two of the very few games I loved enough to 100%... Second Son is an exclusive I'm excited about. Alone, it's not enough to sell me a PS4, but I pre-ordered based on last night's conference anyway. I may cancel it before launch to wait for future titles. I already have PS+ so I can do the online "purchase" for any PS4 releases added to that service while I wait to buy the console itself.

Well, given the end of 2, I think McGrath is going to have to play a role somewhere there. Either he's roaming the country or he's not... but I suspect some of Second Son will be investigating Ray Sphere radiation and what may or may not be going down in the eastern half, two-thirds, eight percent, whatever of the US.

Isnt it also a big deal that the new MGS is also on the XO?

I clicked on this link, and saw a guy in Assassin robes, holding a wild west revolver in what appeared to be the city to blade runner... what the hell happened to Final Fantasy since I stopped at 7?

The same thing that was happening to get the series from FF1 to FF7.

Can you imagine if you'd only played FF1 and then someone presented you with FF7?

The irony of this statement is that I've been desperately waiting for another modern style FF since well...FF7.

It became more realistic?

I love how the guy at Square phrases it "FFXV is being developed with a tool called Direct X 11, "With this tool it's possible to port the title to various hardware."

Hmm. Tell me more about this..Direct X 11?

...I want more medieval!

Yeah that's confusing as hell.

I don't care about the franchise personally. It's a bit to wacky and verbose for me. I'm another one feeling the allure of Titanfall.

I havent cared about FF since the SNES FFIII... but I thought what they showed looked fairly interesting.. I might not pre-order it or anything but if it reviews well and isn't completely filled with pre-pubescent purple haired "women" I might give it a twirl.

Should we lock this thread and relegate all PS4 talk to the PS4 thread?

That's the biggest obstacle for me too. At least it looks more ergonomic then the PS3 controller.

I know there was some 3rd-party adaptor released this gen that let you play PS3 games with an actual 360 pad.

Since I owned both consoles and only used PS3 for exclusives, I never paid much attention as the adaptor was pricey as I recall.

However, if I'm looking at playing all my console games with a PS4 controller, then I really hope there's a repeat of that Xbox > Playstation controller converter. I'll gladly invest this go around as the chances of my buying an Xbox One are damn slim (to none) at this point.

I had it.. it worked... well... barely.. basically a waste of $50.. everything was floaty and non-responsive.. like adding a nice input lag buffer.

I was actually responding to the news that MGS is also no longer a Playstation exclusive. I was late to console gaming and missed all the Final Fantasies before 13. I live in hope that I will experience a great Final Fantasy game. The trailer looks amazing and fresh. Fingers crossed.

I like what I heard: "clickier" sticks with concave tops, curved triggers. I am hopeful that the curves they have added to the grips will make it more comfortable.

I think I must be the luckiest guy in the world... because neither the PS controller or the 360 controller (Xbox S) are uncomfortable in my hands. The only downside is the craptastic nature of the 360 D-pad but other than that I can use both controllers to the same extent. Quality of control-wise, they're both sh*t: With sticking buttons (usually the more utilised ones) and large dead zones for the control sticks. They're terrible controllers. The best two controllers in the whole of my gaming life are still the SNES and N64 controllers. Even the Megadrive/Genesis controller had loads of problems with really deep depressions on the buttons which lead to sticky buttons....

I think the easiest way to explain to the average consumer what the difference is between Sony's DRM and the Xbox One's DRM is to say "Go to Gamefly, Redbox, or whatever game rental service you may use and you'll be able to rent games for your PS4 there. Xbox One? Nope."

Decent news I guess.. I still favor the offset positioning and the ergonomics of the Xbox 360 controller the best.. it was the only joystick I ever owned that immediately felt natural to my hands.. all the Playstation controllers "force" my hands into an un-natural position to use the thumbsticks. I can pray that maybe Razer makes their Sabertooth Controller for the PS4.. I would even take it if it was only wired.

Yeah this is the deal breaker for me. I don't buy console games I rent them. Although I wouldn't be surprised if microsoft setup some sort of deal for those two.

Kinda bummed about needing PS+ for multiplayer gaming. Will that include F2P or MMO games? If so, that sounds really stupid, since it wouldn't be Sony fronting the servers.

No word on that yet that I can find, but you do get a lot more with it than multiplayer, and it's not a gate to using services you pay others for.

I would be *extremely* surprised if they did not arrange something for rental of games. Perhaps unique keys coded to the DVD or blue-ray so that when you install it, it knows that it is a rental.

Lots of interesting answers in this interview.

A few highlights:
Camera will be $59.
Box only contains the console and a controller. (Meaning no pack-in game and no camera, not sure about cables)
Hard drive can be upgraded.
USB controller devices, like fight sticks, that worked with the PS3 will LIKELY work with the PS4.

It's also just a cool interview. Whether or not this was brought on by desperation is immaterial to me. Sony seems very much to be on message that they're about gamers and game devs and making life fun and profitable for them. Simple.

Didn't someone mention a pack-in headset?
