Official Xbox One Reveal Discussion Thread

I was down with Xbox Infinity. This is just... Am I allowed to be disappointed just by the look of the box?

Is this thread backwards compatible with the old one?

I'll go out on a limb and say that MS will follow Apple's lead here and demo a real Xbox then close by announcing that it will be in stores shortly after E3. Or at least they should. Looks like I'll be driving to work during the announcement so I guess I'll catch up later.

Ha, I'm secretly hoping for an even more Apple-like event: "Up to three times faster than the previous Xbox, it's just a screamer. Built-in wifi. All your previous purchases sync with it in the cloud, automatically. It's $399, and it's available to order... today."

But I'm guessing it's going to be more Microsoft-y than Apple. "Living room! TV! Experience! Living room! Future! Digital! Living room!"

HTC Xbox One!

And yes, I liked Infinity better. But one makes sense. I'm sure it's going to just be Xbox eventually.

Yea! They didn't mess with the controller!!

Rhetorical comsumer question: "Why get an Xbox 1 when I can get a PlayStation 4?"

No waiting on game updates.

Oh yeah, this thing is all about convergence. Also, that home screen is completely unrealistic as it's not 2/3 ads.

Rhetorical consumer question: "Xbox One, you mean the first Xbox? Aren't they already on the third one?"

Is he having to walk over into Kinect range?

Not liking the fact they're putting off talking about games. Looks like they're still clueless about their demographic.

EDIT: "Exclusive" Forza game. Was that franchise ever multi-platform?

Or out of range so he doesn't mess with it.

I assume exclusive to the Xbox 1, not coming for 360 (contra Gran Turismo 6 on PS3 when PS4 is out).

That switching is slick. But it's troll-able. Just image as kids what you'd do to your siblings.

I had to turn my Kinect sensor around. He kept activating it.

Not if it detects whose voice is the controller.

I would be more interested in voice commands if they ever became compatible with my inability to enunciate anything.

Oh, these gestures are going to be neogaf gifs that live on forever.

Minority Report without the gloves!

As if anyone needed skype on ANOTHER device, haha.

Hey look we now have features (ie. multitasking) that your PC has had since the 80's!

EDIT: 10-15 minutes in and still no games.

I'm not interested in the TV much unless it works with DVR, or the On Demand catalogs are better.

Looks like they are trying to compete with Apple TV (and doing a great job), and don't care about Sony.

Grab and pan will cost you $50 extra

Fake, model home living rooms! Where's my press conference bingo board?

I think Xbox is a large reason that MS bought Skype. That along with it's user list

So how many of these features are going to require a Gold subscription?

All.

Edit: All that require Internet.

So. Is the TV streaming from a cable box, IPTV, Cablecard, or what? That matters a lot.

DOMINATE!
