DDO Orien server catch all - Static Group nights Tuesday and Thursday 8PM EST

That's unfortunate. Our basement leaked (which it always does in this sort of weather), but otherwise things were fine. Our power stayed on the whole time. I guess we got lucky.

More like we are unlucky. Everywhere else either didn't go out or was back quickly. Just a couple of area in the west end where the relay stations actually flooded and shorted out. Given the storm dumped a month and a half of rain on us in 2 hours, there was remarkably little actual damage - just sewers and runoff drains unable to cope until it slowed down again. Can't really complain.

My plan was to jump back in again with you guys tonight. Unfortunately I have to do a 4am website reboot in the morning for work and probably will not be up late enough to play. Guess I will try for next Tuesday.

Thanks for keeping things going these past couple of weeks.

No trouble. Majeure made lvl 20 last night. I think I'll switch to Eldaron the lvl 18 cleric on Tuesday; partly to keep in line with levels - I think Safehouse is a little behind; and partly because the higher level dungeons seem really challenging - healing is good.

I have a Monk that is 19 as a fall back. I'll try to get one of my rogues caught up either Safehouse or Greybryn, both are either 15 or 16.

Mousetrap great job with the pics. That one where we're falling through the ice is perfectly timed!

Thanks! I was actually going to just take a shot of the shiny ice surface - but in the time it takes to clear the HUD (and fire the wrist rocket that starts charging when you do that because of my resetting the controls for that), the frost giant broke the ice. Turned out to be a better shot than what I originally intended, I think.
For taking screenshots: Alt Z to clear the HUD, Control P to take the shot, then Alt Z to toggle the HUD back. It's quick, as long as you haven't re purposed the Z key to fire the arm cannon. Adds the shot to a DDO directory under the C drive 'My documents'.

Even though the DDO engine is not top of the line graphics, you can get some pretty appealing pictures.

Hope to see you next week. We'll probably try to finish the Shavarath (non raid) quests tonight with "A New Invasion".

A new invasion quest:

New, major update. Get ready to re-learn your characters abilities as the new enhancement system is out!

Did not expect those to be out so soon, but I guess it makes sense to do it coinciding with the release of the expansion.

I patched up and took a look through what my barbarian gets over lunch. I had initially been concerned that, with my abilities spread over the three trees, I wasn't going to be able to access to all the goodies I had before, but I have been pleasantly surprised. If anything, because things are overall a bit cheaper, I end up a little bit ahead.

Sadly, it looks like I won't be able to make it tomorrow to try it all out.

Argh. It looks like I'm going to miss this Thursday and next Tuesday as well.

It looks like they are trying to get many new builds viable. I looked at the artificer trees and there was a whole line dedicated towards giving your pet some great stuff.

I also love, love, love the racial tree. (read: half elf) There is a line dedicated to boosting your dilittante feats!

I want to create one of every class just to see the new trees they get.

So capstones are totally gone, right? Is there any reason now that I shouldn't be taking a couple of levels of fighter (for feats) or rogue (for evasion and sneak attack)?

Each tree has its own capstone that requires you take 20 levels in its class.

That's the fifth one in the horizontal line along the bottom that requires 40 points in the tree? Conveniently, I either don't like or can't afford any of the barbarian ones.

Note it seems you can only take 5th level abilities in one tree. Once you take such an ability, the 5th level row in all the other trees goes unselectable. You can take all the 5th level abilities IN the tree (some have up to three of them), but only in the one tree.
