I was surprised there weren't many from the Baltimore area!

Hamsterdam has surprisingly good WiFi

There are/were a bunch of people south of Baltimore (Silver Springs-ish).

I put my marker up. I live in N. Wilmington, can almost spit into PA, but I wanted to represent DE, so I'm on Wilmington vice Philly.

And added.

Updated the map to use the new google map engine. The best part is everyone is now on one page. Yay!

Is the new map locked? I don't see a search box. In fact, the only menu thing available is the list of existing locations, and I can't edit them. I'm logged into Google too, so it's not that.

Hmm, I created a test google account and the first few times I opened the link it was not editable at all, but the 4th try it worked fine. Try vising this address once first, then go to the map: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/

That page-list limit was a really annoying thing before. Woo!

So when I initially copied all the data over, I erased the "description" field which contained the state/country for the city in question and replaced it with the goodjers names. I then realized that I could add a new field for the goodjers, but the state/country data was already gone. I've started adding the state/country data back to the description field, but it's going to take a while. If you see a blank description in the data and want to help out, feel free to add the state/country data there. Thanks!

Yeah! I couldn't figure out how to edit the old version, but I'm on the map now. Also there's a dinosaur.

Ok, all locations are updated. Not promising I didn't mess up a state or two though, so keep an eye out for mistakes!

GWJ Mateo, reporting in!

That's excellent news! Having everyone on the same page is a lot more convenient!!

I'm sure someone can use this data for a game design. (The Goodjer version of Risk?!)

Also any way to see which countries have yet to experience the warm embrace of a goodjer?

Well, I don't know if there's an easier way to do it, but here's my tally: pretty much all of Africa with the exception of South Africa, all of South America with the exception of Brazil and Venezuela, Central America, a good chunk of Eastern Europe, most of the Middle East, India, Mongolia, Kazakhstan... The list is quite long!

So what you're saying is that we need a spreadsheet of all the countries, too?

Don't even go there.

I've pretty much doomed myself, haven't I?

Or, more precisely, ALL OF IT. JUST FOR ME.

Nicely done!! Although France is red when it should actually be green, because, well technically, I'm currently on French soil (even though I'm waaaaay down there near Madagascar).
What do you mean, I'm nitpicking?

Which makes me realize that I need to go back and check for trixie hobbits like you... Stupid data left out from the spatial match... hrm. I even noticed that you were in Réunion rather than France but then didn't notice that it (Réunion or France) wasn't colored . I guess I have something to do at work Monday

Yeah, confusing people like that is fun. Gotta make the most of it, only 5 months left!!!

Based solely on the google earth map...

Click to embiggen.

Also, if programming didn't fail me this should be the tally by country/autonomous region.

United States of America 297
Canada 49
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 16
Commonwealth of Australia 7
Federal Republic of Germany 4

Edit: Updated. You coastal people really mucked things up the first time when your placemarks didn't fall into a country. New Zealand and France now show correctly.

Curacao looks weird in the spreadsheet. Probably because of the weird 'c' in there. Just use a normal one

Hey, it wasn't my dataset! (I just copied it.)

Ah yeah, no worries. I hasn't killed me (yet).

Great job. It is nice to see a more easily to read visual representation.

Better dead than red!

Map updated.

Oh man... I forgot this existed! Now I'll have to update it regularly.

EDIT: There we go. I'll be this yellow star which is going to be changing locations every few weeks.

I'll probably be right near you tomorrow when i hit the mtn bike trail in York River Park. First time on the bike in way too long (for all of us going), too.
