Alright Jayhawker, this is it. Please let me know when you can play and we can setup a time. I am available most nights after 9pm.

During the week my availability is later, like starting around Midnight CST. This weekend should be good if you want to play in the AM. Or in the afternoon for that matter.

But prime time is pretty much my wife's domain.

I tell you what. Pick the night and I will stay up late and we can play. I won't be able to talk, but we can play.

That's commitment!

I had a commitment from the #4 OLB coming into the week and got an instant commit from the #1 CB! Interestingly, he's rated lower than the #5 CB who has given me a soft commitment. Might be a good two weeks for my secondary, as I'm close on a couple SS as well.

IU beats Nebraska in a close game that ended 22-13. This was a game in which IU's defense outscored Nebraska's AND Indiana's offenses, 16-13-6. Nebraska's first play from scrimmage was an option that ended horribly, with an IU defender intercepting the pitch and racing 20 yards for a TD. IU added a fumble recovery for a TD and a tackle on an option run for a safety. Thanks for those 16 points, Taylor Martinez!

IU's offense was...pretty rough. QB Roberson ended 5-18 with 0 TDs and 2 INTs. The running game was fine. In fact, statistically the two teams were very close. Neb-IU had 114 v. 91 passing yards, 8/19 v. 5/18 passing, 162 v. 162 yards rushing on 40 v. 36 attempts. Both had 2 turnovers (2 fumbles v. 2 INTs). The big difference was that IU's defense turned both of those Nebraska turnovers into TDs. It also helped quite a bit that IU's QB was sacked once compared with Nebraska's QB being sacked 8 times (some of those on running plays).

Player of the game was DE Ryan Phillis, who was given the job of spying Martinez for much of the game. He finished with 5 tackles, 3 of those for a loss, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Indiana is now 10-1, having lost the very first game of the year to Fresno St. (damn you, Shag!). They're ranked #10 (#8 in the BCS), but they'll move up next week after #6 Notre Dame and #8 FSU (I think) lost according to the ticker going by during the game.

IU only has a few chances left to try to get close to the championship game. Their last game of the season is against Maryland (5-5). Then it looks like they'll have a rematch with #5 Michigan State (10-1) in the Big 10 championship game. The earlier game went IU's way 43-0. Yes, it burns me that MSU is still ranked higher than IU!

IU's big hope is that #4 Southern Miss (9-1) can beat #2 Houston (10-0) in the Conference USA championship game...but not do it so convincingly that they vault into the #2 spot. TCU is undefeated and has no championship game in the Big 12. But they do play #21 Oklahoma and #9 Texas over the next two weeks. Alabama is also sitting at #3 with a 9-1 record.

So, while IU's record will be good enough, starting unranked will hurt, giving only a slight chance that they'll play in the championship.

Shag, tonight is no good. I have a gaggle of teenage girls spending the night. (Stop that, you guys are sick! My daughter is having a study party for a test tomorrow.)

But Thursday or Friday should be possible.

Thursday is probably best. I will be on waiting for you.

I don't know if you got my message via Alpha Jax, but I should be on tonight. I will try to message you here or over XBL when I get a clear idea of when I will jump on.

Rock Chalk Jayhawks!

I think it was for the best that we didn't use headphones for this game. Although I suspect Shags family did not sleep peacefully through this game.

Kansas goes up 21-0, and hangs on for a 28-14 win despite throwing two pick sixes. While Kansas paid dearly for their two turnovers, the eight suffered by Fresno St. turned the game on its head. Four fumbles and four INTs prevented the Bulldogs from scoring an offensive point all game.

It's probably too late for Kansas to get themselves ranked, but they are now bowl eligible, and a win over Stanford could help their bowl prospects.

I was relatively calm. I think the NCAA game is losing my interest. I am playing some human opponents, but after that. It may be time to hang up the cleats for awhile. I am trying to finish Dishonored and the new Bioshock is coming out shortly.

It was a well played game by jayhawker. If it weren't for those turnover, the game was pretty even.

If we do another season, we might think about changing up the sliders. I've been reading very good things about starting with the Varsity difficulty with the sliders cranked up quite a bit. Might be a way to change things up a bit to make it more of a challenge and more interesting.

IU gets a win over Maryland, 28-10. It wasn't close, but IU was sloppy. I gave up 185 yards rushing and 324 yards total in the game. Maryland's QB killed me on scrambles; when I spied him, he juked my players out of their shoes. Still, I kept them out of the endzone twice when they had 1st-and-goal from within the 5. Their first drive took them inside IU's 10 yard line, but a strip-fumble-recovery-93 yard TD run finished that drive with a defensive score for IU.

So, #7 IU finishes the season 11-1 on an 11-win streak (thanks, Shag ). Either #6 Texas or #1 TCU will lose. There was another top-6 team that looked to be struggling with their game, but I don't recall who it was.

With the Big 10 championship game against #4 Michigan St. (11-1, their only loss to IU earlier this season), there's still a chance for IU to land in the championship game, but the Rose Bowl is a more likely destination.

On the recruiting front, IU picked up the #1 and #5 CBs in the same week!

Took Kansas awhile, but they finally started plying good football just in time to get bowl eligible, but too late to make any real postseason noise.

They complete their regular season with a 30-14 win over #5 Stanford. Takeaways once again ruled the day, as they picked up 4 INTs and a fumble recovery. But they also forced Stanford to punt after stalling once they crossed the 50 three times.

Kansas went into halftime with a 10-0 lead, and extended to 17-0 on thier opening drive of the second half, as this game was never in doubt.

We've got 3 games down already...let's keep up the momentum. Are our other two still in?

I am done with my recruiting. Just looking for you guys to finish yours before we move on.

Wow, Jayhawker has Kansas ranked #18!

I'm all set. I have two more guys I'd really like to get...other than that, I'm ambivalent about the rest of the group.

And, damn if Texas didn't leap frog right over me when they beat TCU.

Recruiting done. Roll at will.

What happened to Kush?

WooHoo! Glad to see this moving forward.

By the way, I'd be happy to play another season. It might be fun to put us all in the Pac 12, dropping some of the weaker teams. I may test out some of the sliders that start with the Varsity difficulty, as there's a lot of buzz about those being really good.

If we're all interested...all 3 of us.

Kush lost interest so I decided to drop him. I haven't heard from Bonney and decided to drop him as well. They are both welcome to come back any time.

Haven't had much time to game, MLB 2K13 has now piqued my interest. I will be back for next year's model.

Damn!!! I gave up a KR for a TD with 20 seconds left in the game to spoil a shut out. IU has #4 Michigan State's number, as they beat them 59-7, making their case for being in the title game.

The IU defense was great, adding two TDs. CB Greg Heban had 3 INTs on the day.

HOwever, QB Tre Roberson was named MVP 15-23 passing for 228 yds and 2 TDs. He also added 2 rushing TDs off the option. I was down to HB #3 given a first quarter injury to #2 and the continued injury of my starter. However, the third stringer rushed for 128 yards with 4.9 yards per carry.
