Euro Truck Simulator 2 catch-all

I hope there's a fast travel option for routes going through Nebraska and they offer more than the 2 radio stations you get in the far western part of the state.

Spoiler:

Please don't make me drive through that state again!

No, this but only if you make Boston your home city. Everyone born outside of Boston calls it 95. I lived in MA for a decade and had to look up the 95/128 thing.

Far more important that they properly show the highway signs indicating that you are on both 95 North and 1 South.

I always forget about that sign, because I only get to see it on the way home from IKEA. All my other travels down there have me taking 95 S towards Foxboro for family.

It's funny 'cause you're actually going east.

The question is, has anyone actually driven from Massachusetts down to Florida on 95?

I've driven from DC down to FL, but you wouldn't know it from all the garish South of the Border billboard signs that assault you the whole way down.

I want to make Denver my home garage and rule the Midwest. Let me do this, ATS.

Well, yes and no. When you pass under that sign, you're heading west Heading the other direction, you see <-93N 1N | 95S ->

There used to be a spot in Georgia where you were on several highways and were going north, south, east and west simultaneously.

In one trip, or in multiple trips? I know I've driven the full stretch at various points in my life, but never all at the same time.

Lot lizards as a mini-game?

Yeah, but with save-anywhere you can do it in multiple sessions. Imagine the profit per mile!

I'd actually really love that. And I'd especially like it if they fleshed out some additional systems (like sleeping, stopping to eat, etc) to make it feel more realistic. I want to be able to leave the truck and walk into a diner or something :)

And then have to agonize over which meal to order! Is this going to be your 3rd meal of meatloaf in a row? How's that heartburn going?

I see a poopometer in the future. We'll all be carefully plotting out the next toilet on our GPS.

A car tried to pass using my lane, crashed headlong into me, and I got dinged with a crash offense.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU...

Yea, the inconsistencies in how offenses were handled coupled with the way every country over there likes to drop the speed limit by 20km/h or 10mph or just have stupidly low speed limits(50mph on a dual carriageway? Really England? Get with the times) had me hunting out a mod or config setting to turn all that trash off. Which I found, and as a result, I am now a Stealth Trucker.

I'm pondering the background for the main character in my upcoming ETS2 fanfic. I've started a new profile based out of Stuttgart, which has quite a few US military installations.

I'm thinking my main character will be former Army, who met his German wife while stationed in Stuttgart, and they moved to the US to start a family. After leaving the service (and despite going to driving school) they found themselves on hard times, and are now back in Germany with the wife's family where he's hoping to make it big with his trucking company.

Just spice it with vampire truckers here and there and you're on your way to international bestseller. Or call it Fifty Shades of Asphalt.

Should be posted in the GTAV board, but I'm trying to avoid spoilers there.

I must say after many hours of ETS2, driving in Los Santos is absolutely terrifying/invigorating. For like the first 5 minutes in, I think I was stopping at red lights and trying not just to stay on my side of the road, but in my lane. Not sure how easy it will be for me to get back into ETS2 when the expansion hits in the next week or so. I may go all road rage.

New patch inbound.

Cool. I'm guessing at this point I should turn off any non-aesthetic mods until the expansion ships.

A day early? On my way home now.

Ack! I'm vacationing on the West Coast this week!

[/Darth_Vader_NOOOOOO!!!!!]

It is mine! No time to play tonight though

Poland has livestock! Who knew?

Grabbing the DLC and hitting the roads again this weekend. Meanwhile...

The more I watch videos of this game the more I am disturbed by the lack of vehicle shake on the trucks. It reminds me too much of Wolfenstein 3D. I really wish they would implement that. It would add a great deal of realism to the game.

The realistic physics mod adds a very convincing shimmy, highly recommended.

So I took my kids to this today. Lots of trucks and vehicles for them to see, sit in, etc. The highlight for me, however, was GETTING TO SIT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF THE SEMI TRUCK!!! Just like ETS2, I said to myself

Apologies for skimming, but what were the first trucks you folks bought?

I've got 200k sitting in my account so I figure it's time to grab one. Liking MAN for its in-cabin visibility, but the dashboards aren't great.
