NFL 2013 Post-Draft Offseason Thread

This doesn't really go here, except all I could think about while watching it was our very own Douche-Face Scale.

Girl on swing...

None of it makes sense. Probably the only factoid that makes even a little sense is the one garion provided, the bit about Josh McDaniels being on the staff. Possibly he is still under the impression that Tebow is an NFL QB in the making, if only McDaniels could mold him further.

Probably this.

In McDaniels' mind, Tebow's remarkable 2011 winning streak probably vindicates the draft pick from the year before.

The best part of this will be watching Belichick gives his non-answer answers to questions about the Pats' third-string QB. That will be awesome.

My buddy made this hatchet job pic:

I did not need to see Josh McDaniels with a huge pair of tits this morning. Did not need.

More of an evening thing for you?

In the evening, I enjoy pictures of Josh Freeman's tits. No Photoshop required.

Speaking of boobs, Panthers DE Greg Hardy is gunning for 50 sacks this year.

I think he's counting on 20 just from Josh Freeman. God bless the Bucs.

Carolina did sack Freeman three times in two games last year, so the odds seem good. It's going to be hard for Hardy to sack Freeman while playing running back, though.

What? Really? He's staying on defense? Oh, sorry, I just kind of assumed everybody on Carolina was an RB at this point.

Ha! I think Hardy figures 50 sacks is a gimmee if he's going to be lining up 5 yards behind Cam.

Sacking your own guy counts, you know.

Deadspin's list of worst coaches ever. Assuming that we're talking head coaches, I think Lane Kiffin, Dave Wannstedt, and Norv Turner need to be here. Maybe Josh McDaniels and Bill Callahan as well, though Callahan might get the Al Davis waiver. There's so many candidates that it's tough to keep the numbers down.

Norv won lots of games, just not as many games as he should have. Callahan belongs; I still need to send him a fruit basket for his brilliant decision to not change the play calls in the Super Bowl against Tampa, when he, was, you know, coaching against the guy who wrote those play calls in the first place.

Needs Ray Perkins. 23-34 with the Giants, 19-41 with the Bucs. When you manage to coach eight years and bat around a .350 winning percentage, that's something special.

Was a highly educational link for me. For a sport where coaching does actually matter its fairly shocking the quality levels at times.

Just about everyone on that list was a good football coach. But at the NFL level, a head coaching job is equally as much about management as coaching. And when the management half is broken, the coaching half can't get any traction.

Yeah but a lot of that can be put squarely on Hugh Culverhouse's miserly shoulders.

Same reason John McKay is not on the list. You can't fault a head coach for losing NFL games with a Sun Belt roster.

I didn't see anyone post about Russel Wilson throwing a 98mph opening game pitch the other day. I know he played baseball but that is still impressive.

Well, it's not actually true. The gun that the TV announcers saw clocked the pitch at 75 mph. And by simply watching the pitch, it's pretty easy to tell that it was a ~75 mph throw and not a 98 mph one.

Where's the 98 mph thing come from? Local news?

They put it up on the stadium graphics. They were playing it up, having a bit of fun with it, I think.

Ah, I saw it as a brief blip in the morning at the gym with no volume so I missed any explanation.

It's already becoming a bit of a tall tale. I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN is going around reporting it as fact.

One way or the other, though, Wilson has no lack of arm strength, which is surprising given his stature. Very few sub-6' quarterbacks who can generate the throwing power Wilson does.

This Aaron Hernandez stuff is quickly becoming more alarming.

I normally think going to the full-service pumps is lazy, but that might have been a smart move for Aaron Hernandez today.

bonkers.

Jason Whitlock ‏@WhitlockJason 2m Sources: Kim Kardashian considering dumping Kanye for Aaron Hernandez.

edit: I cant quote anything today and I'm not fixing it so just deal with it ;P

Dear ESPN:

Somebody's son and friend was murdered, possibly by an NFL football player.

Maybe next time you report on this you should mention the victim before you speculate on who's going to be catching passes from Tom Brady this fall.

I think it's a little unfair to expect quality journalism from ESPN.

Really though, they're just awful. I haven't watched anything on that channel except for football games in almost two years.

And Pats dump Hernandez. I wonder if the Bengals have already made a call.
