TED.com - Steven Strogatz: How things in nature tend to sync up

I didn't like his little experiment that he performed. As he showed before even placing the to metronomes on the water bottles, they already shifted in an out of sync. Why then would placing them on the water bottles and having the shift into sync mean anything?

It was a crappy setup. I've seen that performed in person, and it works. They'll go into sync and stay there. His shoestring thing just wasn't working all that well.

Right, the notepad on the water bottles is suppose to act as a free platform much like the bridge later in the video, but it didn't work out so great for him.

edit:

And hurray for new page.

Seriously, you just have to marvel at Gavin's assessment of how he played at the end of the clip.

*HDD Latency Vid*

On an off-topic side-note, I wonder if that guy realizes he has an actual future in educational television hosting. That was pretty compelling for just an amateur vid.

Wow that one hurt. A lot.

A WTF Video otherwise known as "How to rape extremely suggestive women." This video is off the scale of WTF I can only wonder if this infomercial was actually aired at some point at 3am on some station some place during the 80's. And why does the guy look a little like Corey Haim?

This isn't a porn it's a commercial I believe and while there is a sexually questionable scene in the credits it's relatively safe up to that point.
