The Science and Technology knowledge quiz

This science quiz is obviously not sciencey enough. I demand a new science quiz! *sound of pasty fist hitting table top*

We could gather our respective knowledges and make one almost impossible to get 100%.

Well the fraking I am curious is not more known about since the videos of peoples water igniting out of the faucet are youtube sensations.

I could see the oxygen in the atmosphere being a common mistake because of rushing through the quiz. The rest I am puzzled.

If we are going to have a nanny state, instead of banning violent video games and super sized sodas, we should have mandatory science education TV.

Heck I would think that should be included in prison sentences, community service and welfare or disability assistance.

Doh!
11/13

You scored better than 75% of the public, below 15% and the same as 10%.

I'm OK with that.

Which did you get wrong? In the interests of science.*

*Totally not so we can point and laugh. I promise!

I got 13/13, but I also spent my childhood reading science books. Curious to read the article now and see the commentary on the results.

13/13 I AM BEST AT SCIENCE

12/13. Got the atmosphere one wrong :(

Same here.

13/13 But I am a chemical engineer. Just out of curiousity, would it be interesting to see how different professions measured up. I assume most of the science related professions get most or all right, but what about not science related people that have been out of school for years.

I do think that any Jr. High student should get all of this correctly. I am just interested in retention as well. People forget what they don't use.

Aerospace engineer, master degree. (13/13 see previous)

13/13

Data entry clerk in University business office. Out of school for over 20 years.

I agree with MrDeVil, the questions seemed fairly basic. I was worried I would have to calculate something.

Ain't denying it

12 of 13, for idiotically forgetting that nitrogen is the most abundant element in our atmosphere.

Me too

History/poly Sci with a masters in Social Science Ed.

I'll take it

13/13 with a college degree in Communications.

Oh right, degrees too. Sorry, working 70-ish hour weeks right now and not the most attentive to detail on leisure reading.

Ironically, BA in English Literature.

Stupid oxygen question 12/13. Then again I was never good at science or math and preferred literature. That's why I got a degree in computer science...

13/13

Ph.D. in Classical Studies (Greek, Latin, specialty ancient history), now professor of same.

Did anyone see the quiz on knowledge of religion?

100% on that one too, SUCKAS!

Only 1% of those who took the quiz got 100%. I'd love to hear your opinions on why that might be.

11/13 stupid mistakes actually lol but well, I made them

14/15 on the Pew Religion quiz.

Last question's the one I missed, but I'm not up on that period at all. Probably should be, having just finished Bioshock Infinite.

As earlier 12/13. GED (ex) military dude. So I guess it doesn't take much learning to pass this thing, just a general interest in science and technology.

I think anyone who is curious about things and reads can know a huge amount. I wish more people were like you.

My senior chief when I was in the Navy also had a GED and maybe a few college courses. Very smart man, very knowledgeable about a lot of things.

100% on both. Some college. No degree.

Edit: I love science, eat/sleep/breathe technology, home school my kids, and take spiritual and intellectual growth very seriously. These quizzes weren't difficult - you either know or you don't.

13/13, Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering.

I too think that the Fracking question was a poor question, although the fact that it's the question second most likely to be answered correctly is interesting.

14/15 on the religion one. I missed the last question (about the First Great Awakening). Perhaps it's time to find a good book about the period.

As for education -- I have a CompSci degree at a liberal arts college, with a math minor.

Well damn, I missed one on that test too. Couldn't remember the majority religion in Pakistan (thought it was Hindu).

Muslim/Hindu relations are a big part of the rift between Pakistan and India. Many atrocities committed on both sides between those groups. Really sad, but that makes it easier to remember once you know it.

13/13, 15/15. Witness the quizzing power of this fully armed and operational computer scientist with a minor in religious studies...

12/13 on science, good thing I'm not a chemist, got Nitrogen and Hydrogen mixed up...

13/13 science quiz

15/15 religion quiz

BS atmospheric science (math minor)
