Amazon throttling it's own videos?

Was watching Fringe for free as I'm a prime member on Amazon.

Noticed the quality was subpar and the streaming speed was excruciatingly slow even though I have verified ridiculously fast upload/download speeds.

On a whim, I outright purchased the same crappy quality episode and immediately played it back with zero latency, marked improvement in video quality, and no interruptions for buffering.

I went on and bought 1 more episode of a different free prime stream TV show and separately, 1 movie that also is available as a free stream. I then immediately after purchase, started playing the paid versions and again, immediate flawless hi quality playback.

Grrrrrrrrr. I feel a little peeved I'm being handed down crappy quality videos as a free prime member and have to pony up money to get the quality versions.

It's not the money, it's the principal.
