Post a picture, argue with me!

All poll rhetoric aside, how many people allied to Islamic militants have killed how many Americans not directly responsible for anything? Does it stack up to the number of Iraqi and drone strike civilian casualties? I'm willing to bet that if your dead were nearing the hundreds of thousands of civilians killed, the nukes would be out. You talk a big game about not wanting civilians dead, but you do it just the same.

Our foreign policy is basically manifest destiny and White Paternalism on a global scale.

We can call ISIS evil and be right but we sure as hell don't hold the moral high ground.

Pretty sad when aliens need to tell us how to behave.
Pun intended.

If you go by civilian death count, a legitimate case can be made that the USAF is one of the most (if not the most) dangerous terrorist organizations currently operating.

Pft. Superman is a dick.

A two year process of interviews and background checks required before achieving your goal would also be pretty nice.

But I'm mad now.

Wow. Rhetoric successfully escalated. Apparently there's one floating around that has to deal with the hypocrisy of fighting to save embryos while letting Syrian children die.

My favorite has generally been going back to all the folks who were using #AllLivesMatter as a counter point to #BlackLivesMatter and asking why Syrian refugees don't count as part of All Lives.

I get your point but does it ever work?

i mean does anyone ever really say "I guess I hadn't thought of it that way." Or does it just continue a cycle of snideness. Don't get me wrong I like a good comeback and I am not above using people's word against them but sometimes I wonder if it ever works.

There is always the hope that people might notice their glaring and blatant hipocrysy, sure... but the larger point is generally not for the person spouting the sh*t, but for everyone coming after to see how wrong they were. Just like engaging with gaters. I'm not there to educate the gaters, I'm there to educate anyone who is unaware of the problem or its depth and setting this as clear as possible for them.

Yeah, I saw that very recently.

I love that it depicts a presumably white male trying to convince people that the problem is the same for everyone and that people pointing out that the problem is in fact NOT the same are the jerks.

I love the idea that the sh*t level is minorly different rather than like molehill versus mountain.

I had totally forgotten that Suess used to do stuff like this. Love him all over again.

I think the background is a bit much but I agree with the sentiment. Replace "American" with "Christian" as applicable.

LouZiffer, that's my new favourite thing.

Let me put it another way. You're not standing in less sh*t than us. YOU'RE sh*tting on us. Does that make it a little clearer?

LarryC wrote:

This. The sh*t the white guy is standing in is things like "no Christmas decorations on my Starbucks cup" and "people keep jumping down my throat when I say racist/Islamophobic things".

Certainly the average westerner pile of sh*t is smaller specifically because their share of the sh*t is exported onto others in the world and that is indeed a problem we and capitalism need to address.

That said, the notion that one should never complain about anything that isn't the worst of human problems in the world strikes me as a potentially dangerous mentality. Part of the trouble is it can be misused against those who are minority groups but not the worst off of minority groups. Another issue is it can make some in the well off group feel like they're being told they clearly have no "real" problems and thus should feel no sense of subjective suffering, which isn't really a great way to approach someone for conversation on how to make things better for everyone.

That's not the notion is play here. Here, it's the difference between, "You're hurting me" and "You're making me feel bad for hurting you". One of those is a valid complaint.

Heh, it's like a test where what you see in that comic maybe says more about you than it does about the comic.

I added one word to the second speech-bubble and now the comic and the expressions make a little more sense.

Spoiler:
