Is there a support thread for people trying to quit smoking? I believe there is, but I cannot find it.

There is this thread, but it looks a bit old.
You could possibly post there again or potentially start a new thread. I couldn't find a generic addiction support thread but something like would be a welcome addition IMO.

I started this one a while back, but it's been pretty dormant lately.
Thanks, time to revive the smoking thread it seems. Seems the most appropriate one, especially since the last post in there is mine
Souls like and monster hunter catch all?
Monster Hunter Generations thread if that's what you're after. Very helpful bunch over there.
Just popped in with a query of my own...Dwarf Fortress thread anywhere?
Is there a thread for introducing one's self to the community?

That would be this one: Dwarf Fortress you sick temptress, you!
Conversation has died down a bit between releases, but there's a bunch of new news about it that I bet people would be interested in discussing...
Is there a thread for introducing one's self to the community?
Traditionally, no. Not for ages. Just jump in and participate, and if you have a particular interest that there isn't a thread for go ahead and start one!
(Somebody correct me if this has changed when I wasn't looking!)
Is there a thread for introducing one's self to the community?
Welcome. Just start posting where you think you are interested.
Also... D&D most of the time here does not mean fun tabletop... unless you are in that thread in which case it does. lol

Heck, just to be thorough:
Some Current D&D and Roleplaying Threads that are not in "Cleveland"*
General D&D Catch All: D&D CATCH-ALL because Baron is dumb
Other tabletop roleplaying: Tabletop RPG Catch All
A Thread for dungeon masters to discuss running games: The DM's Guide to DMing
Bonus: The GWJ conference call interviews the D&D 4e design team
* it's a long story

Gotta love dropping inside jokes to the n00bz.

I think everyone knows that Cleveland sucks. They'll get the gist.

Do we have a thread for explaining in-jokes?
Edit: I suppose I should at least document this while I'm here:
Cleveland:
I hope this can stay non-P&C.It's like getting on the train to Cleveland and saying, "I hope this train doesn't go to Cleveland!"
After this mod quip in 2007, "Cleveland" became an in-joke term for what is now labeled "Discussions & Debates". Admittedly, some people were sick of it within a month, but after the name change I've used it a a bit as a catch-all for the renaming.
Do we have a thread for explaining in-jokes?.
We really need to find out what happened to the Goodjer Commandments page...

Eh. Some of those threads are better buried. A new list might be handy, though.
I could have sworn there was thread called "Gamers with Motion Sickness," or something like that. Did I imagine it?
Being in a gaming funk?
Being in a gaming funk?
I know we've had a thread or two about that but I can't remember the titles off the top of my head.

The best I could come up with using search is this thread.

Newcomers?
No there isn't, on purpose. The are a lot of new people in the what are you playing this weekend thread and on the podcast of the week thread, and maybe other places I haven't noticed.
I recall someone (Certis?) saying that introduction threads are discouraged, but I don't see it listed in the community standards. I would imagine even a single thread for new folk would basically be just introductions and any discussion within such a thread may discourage venturing out into the great community.

It used to be in the Code of Conduct, or some such place, but I can't find it now, either.
I wonder why introduction threads are discouraged? To get people to jump right in?

I believe that's the primary reason. I also think folks are more likely to be engaged if they join a conversation that's already ongoing.

The easiest threads to jump in on are stuff like that, and the Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread, Random thing you loathe right now, Random non sequitur posts catch-all thread, or the Things you should know by now, but only just discovered threads . Even though the threads are long, there's no need to read much of it before posting in them. And the Catch-All threads for specific games or topics don't require much prior investment before posting.
Basically, just dive in and start talking!
Downloading Gwent beta - Is there a thread somewhere?
If I google it comes back with gaming jobs in Newport, Gwent (about half hour drive away).
