Seattle prepares to receive its new Chairman

This weekend is nuts.

Seattle Retro Gaming Expo at the Seattle Center
Urban Craft Uprising at another part of the Seattle Center
An airshow at Airling Airport
Dragonfest in the International District
Whatever is happening for Seafare
Running with the Bulls in Queen Anne
Bastille Day in Madison Valley

I'm sooooo glad I postponed my quick visit down for next weekend instead of this one. +1 to avoiding traffic hell!

And this afternoon's trip out to the peninsula for a triathlon seems like an even better idea!

The drive back home tomorrow on the other hand, maybe not so much.....

I won't get down there for it, but I do plan on making a trip during some lower-key event this summer. Wouldn't mind running into some GWJer folks.

Any Seattleites going to the Summer Celebration on Mercer Island this weekend? I think we're going.

Traffic's going to be boned.

Boo-urns.

I'll be headed to Seattle via airplane on Sunday. I know I'll be there for at least 30 days and it'll be my new 'home,' which is a loose term as a travelling consultant. My company will be putting me up in a hotel for two weeks and I'll likely spend much of my free time figuring out what to do about semi-permanent housing. If there's anything I need to do or see while I'm out in the PCNW, please let me know.

Arise, Seattle-ites! Question. How is the Cinerama movie-going experience? Is it anything like IMAX? Is it worth seeing a regular movie there?

I'd say definitely. I love seeing movies there. For me, it's very close to the IMAX experience, with their huge curved screen.

Saw Gravity there last week, unbelievable. Took a few minutes to settle into it, but man. Felt things fly by head at some points.

Sweet, I think we're going to see Ender's Game there this Sunday. Would love to see Gravity there as well.

I've been wanting to go to Cinerama myself, I hear it's pretty fantastic.

its pretty awesome and they have a great bar. its actually a great place to hang out pre and post movie as they have a great lounge and pool table.
