Fringe Catch-All - You Are My Favorite Thing, Fringe. My Very Favorite Thing.

Last week's climaxed hinged on Olivia not being aware of Earth-2 FD's way of doing business. She didn't shoot because she didn't shoot. Whatever.

As someone who has proven in this very thread to be a nit-picker himself I'm willing to give this one a pass too. Altlivia would probably have shot the guy but our Olivia probably wouldn't. I can chalk this one up to being another example of the Fauxlivia personality not being totally in control.

from 30'? She hit a <7" pipe fitting from a rapidly accelerating vehicle, hitting some not terribly fast moving person in the arm/leg (no need to kill him, in fact that isn't likely to be the goal), shouldn't be that difficult for someone of her skill. And remember Fringe division seems to be able to do alot that wouldn't be deemed acceptable in our system, i.e. if there is a shooting, the evidence would seem to have to be strongly in favor of not having shot the suspect for there to be much investigation. Also remember at this point the person is a suspect in 2 homicides, and seems to be excellent at causing circumstances to work towards a lethal end.

She absolutely could have hit him. But to what end? He was already on the truck. She could have killed him, sure, except that wouldn't have explained how he did it.

She's a member of the governmental police style agency, shoot said perp, then get local cops to pull the truck over, he won't be running very far with a bullet hole in his leg and thus easy to catch. Or yelled down at the squad cars sitting under the bridge to go after the truck. Or something. It just struck me as silly that he got away in the middle of a accident with significant police response.

November 4th!? Well, I know how Cedric Daniels would respond to this!

Too bad about:

Spoiler:

Shape Changer General Man, great bad guy.

And for some reason, I found Walter getting Astrid's name right ominous.

I want to punch Peter in the face. Fauxlivia practically telegraphed she was a sham when she tried to do everything to prevent them from bringing in the senator's wife and the only oddity's he picked up on was her being patient with Walter? It's like watching Helo mix up his Sharons.

Yeah I don't know where that conversation was going, since Astrid interrupted them. But hell, when he sent Fauxlivia after the shapeshifter cop and she showed up in Walter's office about 30 seconds behind him saying she couldn't find him... I mean really, she barely could have even got to the first floor from the 2nd, and then got an elevator in 30 seconds. It was pretty obvious she wasn't really looking.

Of course they ended up ID'ing him from the cameras and tracking his address, so maybe he'll brush it off as job-well-done, since they caught him. But since he killed himself in jail they didn't get any info out of him. Very frustrating watching her get away with this crap.

I can't wait for Nov 4th because you can tell it's going to be hitting the fan real soon.

Spoiler:

With Newton gone, and her issues coping with this reality, I'm thinking she's going to break or slip-up real soon. Peter is on to her, and she knows it, especially with all the hints that were dropped, but he's choosing not to see it. He only mentioned one example of how she's different, although as a scientist I bet he's cataloged a ton so far. Nothing like a little physical interaction to try and keep him distracted, either that, or she's really falling for him.

The corruption of the original intent of the police officer and his family shed some light into the situation that although they are machines, they are machines with feelings. Fauxlivia is human and suffering from something, but she's more likely to be changed than a machine IMO.

I do find it interesting that they've not had any clips of Fauxlivia with Rachel/Rachel's daughter interacting.

Also, the previews mention Olivia coming back across and show the water tank.

It really feels like they've spent as much time as they can setting things up and now we get to watch it all snowball down the mountain and be awesome

That, and

Spoiler:

Him knifing the shapeshifter.

Despite the fact that he was high as a kite for most of that episode, it seemed like we were catching glimpses of the old Walter. Maybe the change in scenery is affecting him.

Also, his lecture to the Massive Dynamic scientists was great.

That's the part I've been waiting for as well. After hearing that her sister died in childbirth on the other side, seeing her again, and the daughter she should have had on this side will have to mess with Fauxlivia's head. Figured she would break down just like Ourlivia did when she saw her mom on the other side.

Wondering if there's something going on with the sister's actress, that she's on another show or something. But they need to get her on screen at least once.

Also... just another reason to hate MLB. Stupid playoffs interrupting new tv. :X

Heh... My wife was aghast that we were going to have to wait for two weeks, and then bitter when I told her why.

I don't mind so much. There is more TV on than I have time to watch right now anyway. This just lets me catch-up or check out some other shows.

I wonder if we will start getting mixed episodes now, as the two worlds begin to collide, significant players on each side start to figure out what's wrong with their Olivia.

Great Scott!

This is heavy.

Is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull in the future?

As I refuse to accept MLB as a substitute for Walter...

Happy Fringe-day!

I don't accept it either, but at least I don't have to pick between the awesome Fringe and the awesome Tim Olyphant on The Office (usually Thursday is awesome Fringe vs. inertia-ridden The Office). Here, I found this preview. I had no idea The Office had gotten so NSFW. Maybe this is Earth-2 The Office.

Happy Fringe-day! Let the awesomeness begin!

Good God, I forgot Fringe was back tonight! Luckily, there has been some great TV in the interim. But I am just giddy for some more Fringe.

BTW, issue #5 of the Fringe comic just came in to my LCS. So far I have been so disappointed. But I will go plunk my $5 down and try to finish the series. There is just one more after this.

The problem seems to be that there isn't much story, and the conclusion is that our favorite characters are really just have a very wounded psyche. There is no fun to the comics at all.

*edit* For whatever reason, I responded before viewing that trailer. f*ckin'-A that was amazing.

Holy kickass trailer, batman! Fringe night!

More Fringe! Squeeeee!

Thank God it's back.

I think Peter is going to have a threesome with Olivia and Evil Olivia.

He would be the luckiest man alive.

So if Olivia did get down with Alt-Olivia, would that be mastrubation or incest? Would it make her bi?

This could get to be some deep stuff.

We're through the looking glass, people.

Have I mentioned how much I love this show?

Awesome. Good work from Iceman, the brothers twist was fun and gave it a little depth. And the Peter in Olivia's head is rapidly becoming my second favorite of the Harvey type characters--Pacey just seems to be having so much making him a nurturing guide one minute, and a frustrated tormentor the next.

The way Walternate said that Earth-2 has the means to cross "but there are consequences" has me convinced he's the one actually responsible for breaking his universe--he wanted Peter back so bad he got reckless trying to accomplish what Walter already had.

I think you might be onto something there.

At least Olivia's instincts are right not to trust that jerk.
