The quest for a great wallet.

I just picked up one of these while traveling and I love it. Extremely lightweight and thin, yet holds everything I need.

Just in case anyone comes across this thread again, I can't recommend Saddleback Leather enough. Not only is their customer service outstanding, their products warranted for 100 years (no joke), but a large portion of the proceeds of EVERY SALE are donated to worthwhile causes: http://www.saddlebackleather.com/12-...

Well worth the investment.

Yeah, Saddleback is great for more than one reason.

I own several pieces from them, and each is bulletproof and beautiful. One of the nicest things about quality leather is that it looks better the older and more worn it gets, my daily use pieces (wallet and iPhone case) have aged beautifully in the years since I purchased them.

Now I go to the website today and see they started making belts! I know what my next purchase is going to be!

ARISE THREAD!!!

Question about the SaddleBackeather bifold wallet:

Does it fit easily in a back-pocket? It looks like it would be pretty big.

This is my current wallet... have had it years and it is finally starting to come apart. I might have to get a new one soon. I always get compliments, but I would have expected it to last more than 4 years for the price and if a bill is worn it can't quite handle the tight money clip on the inside.

Interesting... but there are a couple of things in the video that make me hesitant. In quite a few shots the cards don't retract properly, and in one of the last 'trick-spinning' shots you can see the cards fly out of the wallet (and then cleverly fly back into the wallet as they rewind the sequence). (edit: right around the 2:50 mark)

I just wanted to weigh in for anyone considering a new wallet, I highly recommend getting a front pocket wallet if you can. It sounds crazy, but it corrected a back problem I was having, and my wallet wasn't all that big.

My current leather wallet still has a few years left in it, but if I were in the market for a new one today I'd get this one.

...and it's a $100. For a 6-card holder. Ouch.

Yeah I need slots (read as room since i put 1 or 2 per slot in most wallets) for 10 cards at least due to corporate ID and credit cards in addition to my own. Also not a big fan of the finger ring... although I do like the idea of a metal card holder plus the money clip. Just wish the it also hid the cash too so that everyone doesn't see what I'm carrying when I pay for stuff.

Apart from that Flip and Grip (Interesting but kinda frivolous) I've found that Kickstarter is a great place to source for great ideas to the normal, bad for your back, back pocket bifold.

Here's one I backed recently that's leather and sticks close to traditional, just doing away with the actual folding - Minimalist by Capsule

Apart from that, another two other interesting designs:
- TGT: Elastic band to keep cards together with leather slot for notes
- HuMin Mini : Cards and notes kept between two RFID blocking plates and elastic

Generally while cool, I don't think anyone has figured out how to elegantly keep cards and notes, have quick and fast access to both and yet be super thin and safe. The only way is to be selective of what you carry with you and make effort to throw out the fluff regularly.

My wife got me an AlumaWallet and I love it. It doesn't hold the most cards in the world but it's good for someone like me who never carries cash. There's really no room for any money in it but you can hold 10 cards in it without much trouble.

Also, you can get them from a LOT of places so don't believe ordering them and paying shipping is worth it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I'm looking for a slim case or sleeve that would just hold two cards (ID + debit card). Anyone seen something along these lines?

I'm seriously considering getting one of those now.

I like All-Ett, but I've worn out two of theirs faster than I'd have liked.
