Yeah, it's a little embarassing how much time I've spent just watching streams on Twitch of people playing this game. The game just looks super fun to play.
Really salivating to play Hearthstone, I even stooped to trying to get an invite on the BlizzardCS Facebook giveaways. Dark times indeed.
I've given up on the key givaways...they're getting taken by bots n shit and the owners are then selling them for 200 bucks or more on ebay etc.
Pathetic.
I'll either get one from battle.net or i'll get in when it's opened up.
I'm sold on the game, but screw their beta key givaways.
I'm super eager to play as well, but I don't mind waiting. I've done the beta key dance for games in the past and it feels too much like searching the house in mid-December for my Christmas presents. It's a lot of effort and sort of ruins the excitement on the big day.
Now if one landed my lap...that's a different story.

Yeah, I tried for a key from PC Gamer on Friday. The, 'Get a key' button never showed up on the web site and then PC Gamer announced that all the keys were gone. Apparently there was a web API that bots exploited to get the keys. What a joke. I'm done with giveaways too. I'll be waiting on release or open beta. Hopefully they'll release it at Blizzcon.

You'd think that of all places a gamer site would have safe guards against bots

Considering how many game companies/sites have been hacked in recent years, this does not shock me one bit. Online security is obviously not something they take seriously.
Something that really confuses me is Legendary cards in arena play. More than once I've watched an Arena video where the player builds a deck up from scratch and gets maybe 2 Rares in a deck. Sometimes even a single Epic card. And then he does on to play in a match where his opponent slaps a Legendary down on the field and stomps him flat. How is that fair? Why doesn't everyone get a legendary in arena draft?
Agreed, I've been in the position of having a legendary in arena and playing against someone who has one without having one myself... It isn't fair. They should standardize.

Isn't that kind of a thing in sealed deck environments in general? There's always the possibility that somebody winds up getting some super-powerful rare that just dominates. I guess the other side of that in Magic is that usually the power is balanced by the casting cost, and with the variable mana gain in that game, it's entirely possible that the super-card never comes out. I gather that if a Hearthstone game goes long enough, getting enough mana is a guaranteed thing, right? Maybe that's what's throwing things off there.
So how does the game handle it's login process? I'm assuming it uses the same Battle.net login as the other games. But how do you pick a username in Hearthstone?
I hope that since Blizzard is doing a beta wipe, they will soon open the beta up to everyone.
That would be awesome. I got a chance to use a buddie's beta for a lil while to actually play some hands myself. Realized that yes, i have been learning it well from watching streams. I can play it pretty good.
But man, i want my own account so bad:) I wanna get my own packs, make my own decks, play both ranked and arena.
I've watched both a lot on twitch.tv and both ways of playing look really fun in their own right.
Got into the Beta last night. Feel free to send me a friend invite if you're at all interested in playing a game. Tkyl#1215
PCGamesN is giving away beta keys...but, their site is quite broken at the moment.

And it's for the European beta.
Got into the beta yesterday. Having a surprising amount of fun with it.

Someone hasn't been watching videos of Hearthstone.

I did go into media blackout with it until I got into the beta. Also, the battle.net launcher it comes with? Awesome.
*Checks email spam filters for missing beta invite even though it's a longshot*
*Swears under breath*
Hopefully I'll get into beta soon. I'm looking for my next "alt tabbing friendly" game to feed my ADD.
Got into the beta...love the Raid Leader card lol
Yeah, I got let in with the last wave of invites. It's a fun game with lots of chrome and polish. Just the background pub noise makes it more inviting than doomy Magic 2014. I'd still like some shortcuts, like the ability to right-click a card to just play it, instead of click-dragging every card into play. But it's an amazing little game. I can't wait to watch it develop.

The problem with just right-clicking a card is that nearly every card is targetable. Even creature cards can be placed in certain spots on the battlefield. If all you are doing is always placing creatures on the right side, then you're missing a part of the strategy. The few cards that don't target anything (like "Arcane Intellect") I believe can be double clicked to be cast.

Interesting, I'm going in blind so I didn't know placement was part of strategy yet. I probably haven't unlocked that part yet.

It's 'unlocked' right at the start, but it never really tells you about it. Next time you try to summon a creature, drag him out onto the battlefield and try placing him and different locations in your "battle line". It might not seem like much, but there are a fair number of cards (both good and bad) that affect a minion and it's adjacent minions.
Interested as well. But still not in the beta. Signed up early for it. So far, no dice.
