Announcement and beta-invite page..

I'm in. It's the only Blizzard game I could see myself having the time to play these days.

with it f2p and available on the ipad i'll grab it.

Them being able to handle authentication with battle.net and the ipad has some interesting implication for their other games too.

Despite them showing people playing it on iPad, if you read the site they say it's only coming out this summer for Windows & Mac with iPad support coming along eventually.

Not what I expected their next step to be, but I'm intrigued (despite never having played a CCG) - and it's hard to argue with a price of "free". I assume monetisation will be in the form of buying extra card packs, be interesting to see exactly how they implement it.

I hope this wasn't "Titan."

Yep i watched the actual announcement. I'm more interested in what they're going to be able to do with that technology in their other games than this particular game itself. I'll still get it on the ipad when it's available.

This could be arguably considered an mmo, depending on how they want to market it. The term has been pretty watered down over the years.

I can't wait until virtual gold foil cards hit the Ironforge Auction House.

sorry but not even close

My first thought was, 'so this is the titan thing everyone's so excited about.'

Could be a cool thing if the monetisation is done right.

This isn't Titan. Titan is supposed to be the MMO that replaces WoW when they're finished there.

Wouldn't be the first time rumours and 'inside sources' had it wrong.

But no, I'm sure it isn't the legendary/mythical Titan. It would be hilarious if it was.

One of the articles i read on it said that packs of five would either be earned in-game from WoW, or as in-app purchases for about $1 each.

Well it would've meant that Blizzard themselves lied.

At the start of the announcement i was thinking it was their DOTA clone.

Well then, that's a good thing! This is one of those cases where I'd much rather be wrong than right.

Anyone make it into closed beta?

nada here

Nope

Nope

Looks fun.

I did, apparently. I'll DL when I get home. If they start giving me invites to distribute I'll be sure to share with y'all.

This looks like a ton of fun. I will gladly take an invite from someone if there are any to spare.

+1

Yeah, I watched through the TotalBiscuit WTF video last night, and was pleasantly surprised by the visual art style & general graphical layout. Of course, that alone isn't enough to make a proper card game, but I won't know that for certain until I get my hands on it.

Anxiously awaiting a beta key here as well. Looks so good!

Yep. I'm in. Downloading ....now.

Day9 has a bunch of videos up here if anyone's keen for more coverage.

Damn, never played a tgc, but this looks incredibly fun.

Oh my, now I really hope a good soul would send me an invite.

I am really confused about their strategy with this game.

Its not a "trading" card game, its a "collectible" card game. Which makes me think they'll just keep creating cards until the end of time to continue to make money right?

Either way I'm excited!

That's code for "we don't have plans for allowing players to trade cards at the moment", meaning the only way to earn cards will be from buying/earning boosters or other means.
