4 for 27 since you picked Hosmer up. Awesome pickup Kush! :)

You're the one who drafted him in the 9th round, I wouldn't be laughing so hard. I've got nothing to lose on a waiver wire pickup. But if he does start popping homers, dropping 9th round talent makes it look really bad on your part..........he did go 2 for 4 yesterday with a SB. I went 6-7-1 vs McGrath's powerhouse team (the guy won the league 2 years running)

Sometimes you have to try to ride the low streak. Granted, here I sit with BJ Upton in both ESPN leagues (a low streak is sugar coating it) but dropping a guy you drafted in the 9th round.................................sorry, let me correct that, dropping BOTH guys you drafted in the 9th round (though, Danny Espinosa was definitely worth the drop, I see no light at the end of that tunnel). I think you're dead wrong on Hosmer. Come see me when the season is over buddy, loser buys the winner a beer.

Another week, another Sunday win. Tied 4-4-2 going into last night's Tex-Det game. A bad outing by Fister gave me the WHIP win and a save from Nathan broke the Save tie. I'll take a 6-3-1 any week, especially after some disappointing starts from my starting pitchers this week.

A horrible week in the pitching department. Thought I might be able to squeak by winning ERA, but then King Felix ends up with an ERA of 9.00 and Jensen winds up with an ERA of 54.00.

54.00. WTF?

Hey, Verlander decided to get a 27.00 ERA for me last week. And Bumgarner had a strong 13.50.

Ugh. It just has not been my season at all.

Simply horrible.. I have 3 closers and I only had 1 save to show for it. After getting out of the gates quick, my team has stalled out. Can't seem to put a decent hitting and pitching performance in the same week.

My team has been decimated by injuries. Just trying to hold on until everyone comes back.

I rode Gattis for as long as I can since he was the one I picked up when Hosmer was doing nothing. It is now time to get rid of Gattis with everyone back and find someone else who is hot. Tally up Hosmer against all of the people in his place and the loser will but that beer.

This is exactly how I feel about my team. My three, normally excellent, closers combined last week for 2 saves, 4 blown saves, 11 ERs, 13 hits and 7 BBs over just 6.1 innings. The rest of my team did a fairy good job but that basically sunk my chances in saves, ERA and WHIP.

Injuries have been a bit of a killer for me. Each time I feel good about getting some guys back from the DL and having come free bench space to play with another few players go down.

Heh, the problem wasn't my closers not able to pitch well.. their teams can't win games. My closers were a combined 5.2IP, 1ER, 6Ks, but the teams they play for can't win games.. or at least not close ones.

Oh look, Hosmer is 5 for 8 over the last two days. I'll keep track of Hosmer's stats, you let me know about your "player by committee".

OK, some interesting stats since the May 10th pickup:

BA on May 10th: .277
BA since: .236

Walk rate on May 10th: 1 walk for every 11.1 ABs
Walk rate since: 1 walk for every 8.6 ABs

K rate on May 10th: 1K every 5 ABs
K rate since: 1K every 8.6 ABs

HRs thru 101 ABs on May 10th: 1 HR
HRs thru 38 ABs since: 0 HRs

The "since" numbers are under a smaller sample, but the walk rate is up, the K rate is down and what are the odds he hits at least 1 HR in the next 63 ABs?

*EDIT*
Another 2 for 5 day from Hosmer, 7 for his last 13. Consider his slump over.

My pitching staff is dying. I now have 5 pitchers injured...

Spoiler:

Also, Hosmer still sucks.

My team went 3 for 38 last night (0.79).

That's ugly.

I noticed someone picked up Christian Yelich. My sister-in-law is dating one of his HS buddies. I am hoping to grab him in my money league when he comes up.

*EDIT*
Freakin Carlos Quinten. Greinke has not been the same since that stupid incident. At this point, I wish he could have at least ended his season, would have been easier to deal with. Hoping he turns his season around.

Johnny Cueto pitched 8 innings on Friday giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk & striking out 6 for the win.

Guess who forgot to start Johnny Cueto on Friday?

Spoiler:

Two thumbs pointed at this guy

Huh, I just noticed that every one of my offensive players is a National Leaguer except Profar and everyone of my starting pitchers is a National Leaguer except Darvish. I guess I like the National League and Texas...

Games aren't in the books, but as of right now (about 7pm pacific), I have some really weird stats...

My bats today are 5/21... with 3HRs 6/21 4HRs and 7RBI as Moreland just launched one.

and my pitchers through a combined 12 IP have given up 7ER on only 9H and 1BB so a pedestrian ERA of 5.25 but a good WHIP of 0.83.

This weather is killing me. I had six players' games rained out today alone. I've lost 4 starts by pitchers over the last two days.

What do you mean? Your team looks good from my end.

I was complaining about my loss of 4 players due to rain outs tonight, then I saw your 6!

Hey, I'm still in striking distance. We've been neck-and-neck all week, despite the current lopsided score.

Here's hoping the four pitcher starts I have scheduled for today happen, and the C.J. Wilson-Clay Buchholz matchup nets me a win out of one of them.

I'd like to submit Hanley Ramirez as the worst draft choice of the year.

I picked him up in the the third round. Now after two stints on the DL and sitting in recent games he has a grand total of 19 AB for the season. His second half is going to have to be amazing.

Certainly not as bad, but I took David Price just 2 picks after that.

Now I am depressing myself. I just looked through the draft recap and realized I got Hamilton in the second round and Granderson in the forth round. So I believe I have three guys in the running for worst draft pick. My second, third and fourth round picks have combined for 10 HRs and 21 RBIs.

Next year I'm going to let my three year old to look after the draft for me.

BJ Upton, I don't want to hear anything

Pretty sure Giancarlo Stanton is the easy winner.

Brett Lawrie. 'nuff said.

Also, who do I need to kill to get a decent 1B?

I will trade you BJ Upton for Giancarlo Stanton.

Well I don't have Stanton, but we were talking about failures relative to draft position. Stanton is easily worse value for where he was taken than Upton.

I've had Stanton for a bit. Just reactivated him since he just came off the DL this week. Hoping for some numbers.

I'm also dead last in the league and know precisely dick about the vicissitudes of Fantasy BB. So... grain of salt... etc.

Anyone looking to trade some saves?

FSeven wrote:

Err, if you want to chance it with Jim Henderson that he gets his closer spot back, I'll trade him.

On a different note, I am looking for stolen bases out of a player at either 2b, SS, or 3b.

Edit: Glad I got a trade done. I hate going through a fantasy season, in any sport, and not have any trades.
