Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

2 clicks vs 3 clicks... not helpful... can also click on Steam menu and go to profile without having to go through community page, but it's still clicks.

If they're going to remove it from the store page, put it in the menu somewhere at least so I can go straight to it. Especially when their browser is a bit slow during sales.

I created a bookmark in Chrome to jump right there. In fact, for the sales, I do all of my shopping in the browser as the Steam app gets kinda janky sometimes. Plus, I'm usually away from home during these sales.

Now there's a solution. Thank you!

Smart.

Not sure if I should get Walking Dead.
I've heard tons of good things about it but I'm really not into adventure games.

Woot for having no money, amirite?!?

You know it. Being unemployed is the bee's knees.

Alright, XCOM was an insta-buy.

Debating whether I should grab Dawnguard now or wait until the Christmas sale. Anyone think all three DLCs will be available then at a discount?

Anyone who doesn't grab KOTOR 2 for $2.50 is crazy.

Buy it. Play it. Thank me later.

It's the least "adventure game" of adventure games I've played lately. Not much in terms of pixel hunting or weird puzzles to solve. There's a small amount but it's not bad at all.

Ooohhh, Anno 2070 is on sale, but not low enough yet. C'mon Steam, don't let me down!

I have been holding off on Skyrim DLC for this...

And the sale is live!

$2.50 for KOTOR II is exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned that I'm only looking for collecting things at this point, rather than adding to the pile.

This, word for word. Bought.

Now the only thing that is tempting me right now is XCOM. Gotta stay strong.

That's what wish lists are for, isn't it?

Wow, my wallet is totally safe right now. Nice.

K, I lied, I got Zeno Clash for $0.99 because it looks nifty...and $0.99...

Zeno Clash is worth playing simply for the amazing aesthetics.
The first-person brawling wasn't my cup of tea, nor the fact that you got to beat up the same guys multiple times, but it's short (around 3 hours for the story-line) and certainly worth playing to completion. And there's apparently a sequel in the works.

And since it seems fitting:

If I can't buy games for myself willy-nilly (because my wife would kill me) I can still get my game-buying fix-on by gifting the gift of game.

Question: does Age of Empires 3 have any sort of co-op mode?

Lol. Oh, I have a wishlist all right. I even culled it down to a much smaller number than it use to be as my Steam pile is quite a bit out of hand.

And I'll have money again ... soon. Stupid background check taking forever. Just don't have any right now.

Gift of game. Game gift. Gift gift game. Gamey gifty. Gold. Giffity-iffity game gold gifts.

I just got Limbo. I still have like 12 games from the last sale that I have not even played yet.

So for Assasin's Creed Brotherhood, Desmond is a Twat Muffin, and I hate playing extended scenes with him. How much of that is there left in Ass Bro, and what about III? Assuming 3 goes on sale, I might get it.

I don't believe there's any out of the box, but there are probably some custom scenarios that allow co-op. Age of Empires Online does have built-in co-op. It's free to play, and some of the add-on packs are currently on sale as well.

I can't speak to ACIII yet, but there's not much of Desmond at all in AssRev and what is there is mostly optional. I don't remember much of him surfacing later in AssBro either to be honest.

Juv3nal, you magnificent bastard. I hadn't even opened the store page yet to see the KOTOR2 sale when I found a copy of it in my inbox. Thank you!

AND SO IT BEGINS.

There's a bunch more of him in ACIII, but it's supposed to be the best stuff they've done for him.

$10 Tier
Age of Empires 3: Collection

Hey Deadmonkeys, it's $10 now!

Yeah, SO tempting, even though I've got it all on disk. Then there's the fan patch. Are the servers still up? I'm playing AoM over on Voobly.

A polished turd still smells like sh*t.

But anyhow. YAY more sales. I can buy myself more presents. I am curious as to how many of us are buying gifts via the sale.

Just another recommendation for KotOR II.
I know I like it more than most do, but I think anyone who's into the BioWare style of RPG owes it to themselves to play it, because it does some things better than any comparable game. I also think it has one of the single best characters in any RPG.

It's buggy as crap, until you install the fan patches, and yes, the narrative just ends, but it's the best exploration of morality and philosophy ever to be staged in the Star Wars setting.

Yep, Natus, AOE3 servers are still up. I actually run the weekly maintenance on them on occasion

edit: My biggest compliment to the game is that the story warrants a lot of reflection once you're done with it, and repeat playthroughs only help with that. I don't mean that in a "wasn't x a cool moment", but rather thinking more deeply about the characters and themes the way you would an engrossing book. Few games have done that for me.

I'm quite fine with the ending I want more people to play it and have a nice discussion about it

The ending itself is great, but the last level is just a mind-numbingly dull slog.

Wow. I just bought X-COM at full price last night after finishing off some pile games. Didn't even cross my mind that a Steam Sale would be coming today, which I would have had if I even considered that American Thanksgiving was a thing.
Why can't you guys just celebrate thanksgiving in October like NORMAL PEOPLE! YOU OWE ME 17$, ERMERICA!

Nothing for me today
