Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

Assuming it reaches novelty-sale-price-level, I would like to nominate Bientôt l'été as the Summer Sale 2013 Sparkle Ponies Surprise Gift (tm) title.

Just read the About the Game text for some quality facepalm action. As one reviewer put it, "Finally, a video game as artistic and hard to understand as French films." The discussions page, as always, provides for the obligatory Statler-and-Waldorf commentary.

I prefer loveless relationships, myself. More onanism that way.

Fixed.

[insert well-deserved slow clap]

My wife wanted to name our second son Onan. I very quickly shot that down.

Nope. Can't do it.

Did you know there's a company out there called Cummins Onan? ... just saying.

Don't interrupt him, he was saying something.

I nominate this game. Click Me!

I don't think that's... pony enough.

Alright fine. Sexual intercourse partner it is.

That's exactly what pops into my head any time anybody uses the term. Just in my head, they become Will Ferrell for a second.

Lovahhhhh... ew.

Maybe he used too many monkeys?

I vote for Cthulhu Saves the World or Breath of Death for the next gift round. 8-bit awesomeness! Or, in the similar vein Dead Pixels.

But those are good games people would want to own/play. That is antithetical to the Sparkle Ponies gifting movement.

I've already put Jill down for a copy of Bientôt l'été during the summer sale. You're welcome in advance!

Good point, in that case I nominate Dinner Date instead. You play the subconscious of Julian while he has a date that stands him up for 25 minutes.

Damn saw all the unread posts and thought some sale was going on I didn't know about. Nope just a bunch of weird posts.

Any game picked must be Steamplay, so the Mac brethren can be shafted gifted as well.

I usually go with the term 'f*ck puppet'. Makes first impressions introducing the wife a bit awkward at times, but you get that.

I used to love her, Oo, yeah
But I had to kill her

But I had to kill her
I knew I'd miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard
Oh yeah, Oo yeah, whoa, oh yeah

It should be the thought behind the gift that counts.

It's Chillingo so it's probably adorable and pretty good.

Too bad they don't have Garbage Truck Simulator on Steam. That would win hands down.

You're probably right. I'm wasting my time occasionally with Pixel People sometimes, and it's pretty adorable.

EDIT: Also, I feel pretty awful about not having time to actually post much on the forums. School keeps me really really busy... My film will be done in April, so hopefully, I can come back...

We've held a vote on kicking you out for lack of posting. Final count isn't in yet but it's not looking good.

That's not 100% true.

SparklePonies was a game no one wanted to own, but if you tried it out....it was actually a decent game.

That's the joke.

No idea what the next season's game would be, but something like Cherry Hill High Comedy Club, or Fairy Bloom Fresia might fit the bill.

But I have to finish school so I can be a gamer with an actual job... Surely, my absence can be overlooked.

FTFY, and to add to the weirdness.

See if we make it a good game that nobody wants than why not Euro Truck Simulator 2 if it goes on sale. It's as close to a garbage truck simulator as you can get but it's not too bad, I mean this guy played it for an hour and a half unironicly... sort of.

This video is surprisingly entertaining.
