And thanks again to all those that sent me games! You guys rock!

I am a couple days late with a THANK YOU to Liquidmantis for his Ace of Spades gift. You are a kind and generous lot!

I didn't gift out nearly as much as I expected to, as I was a bit more selfish this sale--luckily getting a steam gift card helped to ease my more expensive complusive purchases. Either way, here's the final tally:

Thanks to everyone who gifted anything during this sale--seriously the best group of gamers a fellow gamer could ask for.

sheltered, fearful, puritanical people, more common in the US than most everywhere else

So you're sheltered, fearful, and puritanical if you object to the game issuing trading cards for women you've f*cked?

Only in gaming could we be having this conversation, I think.

Late to the party to say thanks to MrDeVil909 for his awesome awesome gift of StarWars KOTOR. It had been sitting in my cart just waiting to get bought and boom, suddenly it's mine. Bought the one in my cart for my son.

You people are amazing.

My turn!

Bought for myself:
The Gamersgate Bethesda pack - Skyrim and Dishonored alone made this crazily worth it

Skyrim DLC - Hearthguard/Dawnfire

Gifted:
Orcs Must Die 2

Arkham City (just before the sale, but it might as well count )

I was light on the gifting this sale; I'll have to make up for that next time out.

Looks like I'm keeping the Bethesda bundle. Just got this from GamersGate:

GamersGate wrote:

Over the holidays we had a few problems with our site that affected you and your purchase of the Bethesda New Year Collection or the Borderlands 2 Four-Pack. We mistakenly advertised these packs at a price much lower than intended.

As difficult as it is for us, we will be honoring the price that we advertised – we´re currently waiting on serial keys to complete your order and will deliver them as soon as possible.

We want to apologize for our mistakes and the amount of time it has taken to resolve everything. Please be aware that due to these issues, our support team is under heavy pressure – we will be answering all tickets we receive, but it may take longer than usual until things calm down.

We hope that you can be pleased that this issue has been resolved, and that we can continue to deliver fantastic deals and some exciting new releases as we move forward.

Best regards,
GamersGate Team

Was just coming here to post that, Bonus

Per their website, if you didn't get any keys, they're refunding you; if you got even one (yay Skyrim!), you get the whole pack, eventually.

Ok, I suppose I'll add to the mix here and post what damage this sale wrought.

Bought for Myself:

They Bleed Pixels
LEGO Lord of the Rings
Magic the Gathering 2013 Expansion Pack 1 and both Deck Packs
Sleeping Dogs
King's Bounty: Platinum
Galactic Civilizations II (monkey see, monkey do... all your fault, Crhis)
To The Moon

Legend of Grimrock

Thanks to this community for it's inclusiveness, generosity, and overall awesomesauce. Looking forward to getting more involved in 2013!

Pretty light sale for me here, there's still so much I haven't touched or barely touched from the summer sale.

Orcs Must Die pack
Torchlight 2 (already several hours into this and playing a melee, I never play the melee in these type games...)

was going to be done there, but then the crazy sleepy dawgz price went up, so I grabbed it, and to ease my conscience I also grabbed XCOM, which I've also gotten a bunch of hours into already. So the plan to only buy stuff I will play soon is 50% working?

I got the same email. Luckily I'd already claimed all the TES titles, plus new Vegas. Just a waiting game on the others. I have two friends that both claimed no keys, and have been given a refund - they were less than chuffed, even though it was a pricing error.

I got that GG email as well, very happy to have snagged most of the keys while I could (Still waiting on Fallout 3). That's good of them to honor the price.

Gave a bunch of gifts, received a bunch of awesome gifts, you guys are awesome. I lost track of it all. I know I bought too much for myself and y'all, can't wait until pay day Wednesday and my pile of riches is humbling.

All that said, I would like to let everyone know that eveb though the sale is over, I'm still accepting gifts. Thank you.

Thank you to you both for these. My pile of interesting indie games grows! Now to carve out some gaming time...

I can't keep track of it all, but I got some amazing gifts and deals this time around. I'm quite happy. And thanks to everyone who gifted me a game.

bighoppa just gifted me Borderlands 2! Holy sh*t!

Less than an hour to go on the Encore! I even failed in resisting the last day of the sale.. sigh.

Anyway, will be sad to see the normal Steam store-page again..

No one wanted to buy in on that last copy of BL2 I had from the four-pack, and as I scrolled through my friends list and saw you had it on your wish-list that damn song popped into my head. You know which one. I had to gift it to you to get it out of my head.

Quick someone enable me on Torchlight 2. That is the only one I would conceviably bend on.

...damn, I broke. At least it was only $10 (Note: please repeat this statement until your credit card breaks).

It is the better Diablo 3. TL2 is to TL1 what D2 was to D1. Plus mod support, meaning there is and will be user created content. Mods like Synergies are already providing additional items, more levels, an additional class etc. An incredible value for $10, if you are partial to that type of ARPG at all.

I almost pulled the trigger on that one but Cragmyre was nice enough to disable me on it. In 40 minutes, it's not going to matter anyway!

To be fair, I disabled him on it not because of gameplay, but a rule of thumb I go by ( sometimes ). If you will play it now, then pay $10 + for it without issue, if you won't be playing it now and it will sit on your pile ( I'm the king ), then pay $5 or less

Good one, I like it. Will use that going forth.

Do you really want to temp the equine gods like this? They area a vindictive bunch.

I can't believe it's over...No more checking every 6 hours to see if something I want is on sale.

Nearly everything has gone back to the original price; so sad.

Steam Winter Sale 2012.

I've been on the fringes of this thread for the sale, but here is my damage:

Endless Space- Emperor SE- $11.98
Borderlands 2 Season Pass- $22.49
McPixel- $2.49
FTL Soundtrack- $1.49
Resonance- $2.49
The Longest Journey- $2.49
Torchlight II- $9.99
Sleeping Dogs: Nightmare in North Point DLC- $2.37
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (Amazon GOTY Credit)- $8.97
Total: $64.76

Should have passed or waited on Borderlands 2 Season Pass, it was cheaper elsewhere, I purchased it on Christmas Day on a whim (thanks Steam Mobile). I almost pulled the trigger on the Darksiders II Complete Pack, but held off, wisely.

I also have Steam codes for Portal 1, Deus Ex, and Frozen Synapse. Since I missed out on the giving, I'd like to offer up these three to good homes who aren't coffee grinders.

Steam Winter Sale 2012.

Somehow I felt a strong sense of sadness just now. Like, my good friends are all leaving after a week bender over the holidays.... *sniff sniff*

Hahahahaahahha

Dear Mr. Conejote,

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you take Bad Rats back, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will force you to play Superman 64 for ever. EVER.

XOXO
Maverick
