Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

Okay, the clock's ticking on the Steam Winter Spend-fest and I have $2.53 left in my virtual wallet. Since it would just be wrong to leave it in there, what's the best thing to get for before the sale ends?

Keep in mind, I've probably got most of the obvious ones, what's good that's less well known?

EDIT: Some of what I'm considering:
Choplifter HD
Unstoppable Gorg (though I'm hearing it's terribly hard, so...)
Hero Acadamy (I just can't help thinking this would be better mobile, and no Android version yet)
Anything better on your recommendation

Well, if you don't mind going fairly retro, The Longest Journey is a pretty amazing point and click adventure, and it's $3.99. Of all the games I've ever played, I liked that one the most. Even more than Chrono Trigger.

It was done very early in the 3D transition, so they've got this bizarre hybrid thing going on. It has lush, beautiful 2D backgrounds, and then these really clunky, primitive 3D "actors" layered on top. It will take some effort, but if you can look past the lousy 3D, the voices and story and acting and dialogue are out-of-the-park incredible. (Oh, I have a memory that April Ryan's voice was weak at the very beginning, but she shaped right up. I think her very first lines are a bit cringeworthy.)

It's a very, very long game, with some fiendishly annoying puzzles, so get a walkthrough. There is so very much to see that you won't be cheating yourself. "The Longest Journey" is as much truthful advertising as it is a title.

I...uh...what?

I got TLJ from GOG some time ago. I've started it three different times, but never managed to get through it. I didn't dislike it, just lost interest. But thanks for the recommendation.

A sarcastic thanks to M0nk3yboy for his generous gift of Bad Rats

I've been.... randomly rat rolled.

OH THE HUMANITY

Thank you Bad Ken for Assassin's Creed II! Hehehehe.

And thank you, I think, to Eleima for Bad Rats! Apparently I'm "it" now.

I've having trouble with Steam now, errors occur when I try to buy. It's making buying gift copies of the same game challenging.

edit: Now there are three more copies of DCS: A-10C in the world, or would be as soon as Steam gets more keys for them.

I tried, but all those people buying Bad Rats in droves gave me a repeating error message at checkout

Sleepy Dogs is now on sale for $4.49! It may be a pricing error, if you're interested, get it while you can.

A similar "pricing error" happened to Saints Row the Third at the end of the last sale. I'm wondering how much to believe it.

But yeah, it looks like time if someone is on the fence.

hahahahaha! YES

Steam knows.

Thanks to jonfentyler for Cave Story! Gentleman and a Scholar, you are.

welp, looks like Valve loves money. Encore sale time!

Wow. 4.49 for Sleeping Dogs!!!! I went over the fence there.

I wasn't planning on buying this, but I did at that price. Transaction went through without a problem, and they haven't changed the price....yet.

Also look at the Sleeping Dogs, DLC. $11.40 will buy you all of it, but $6.98 is divided between only two items. That's about $4.42 for a lot of extras -- if it's interesting to you.

There is currently only one game on my wishlist, Witcher 2....hmmm...can the budget stretch....

Wow, just bought Sleeping Dogs even though I don't really know anything about it. I'm so glad this sale is nearly over...

Sleepy Dawgs for £2.69! Done, and done! The purchase went through without a hitch, and I was only charge for the £2.69!

I also picked up Sleeping Dogs for $4.49. I keep refreshing the page and expecting the sh*t to hit the fan, but it hasn't yet...

I got Sleeping Dogs yesterday, and I was impressed enough with it that I just now grabbed all the DLC, except the two that weren't on sale. It's really quite good -- it's kind of Grand Theft Auto, in Hong Kong, with lots of martial arts. Someone upthread said yesterday that the fighting is rather like the Batman games, but not quite as good, and I'd agree with that assessment.

Good grief, encore... will it never end?

Gifted to Family:
Recettear
Cherry Tree High Comedy Club
Secret of the Magic Crystals
Assassin's Creed 2

Gifted to GWJ (With apologies: Payday was only 2 days ago )
Hotline Miami
4x Bad Rats

Gifted from GWJ
Tropico 4 (docjoe)

Selfish Buying
Hotline Miami
Transformers: War for Cybertron
Fairy Bloom Freesia
Cherry Tree High Comedy Club
Bad Rats (I was curious)

I missed out on Duel of the Planeswalkers 2013. Civ 5 looks good, but I want to sink that time into my pile and Tropico 4.

Derp! They JUST fixed the Sleepy Puppies price slash-- back to $16.

Joined the group with Sleepy Dog.

That's a price I can't resist :S Bought the Pre-order bonus as well, as the DLC were all at 91% less.. :S

EDIT : Seem fix now at 66% off

Looks like they cut the price back down. Managed to gift a couple copies of Sleeping Dogs though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Missed Sleeping Dogs by 30 seconds. Poop. Had to add new Wallet funds. I can't believe I was eight cents short.

Did anyone pick up an extra, like I did for SR3 last time? I will pay you. If not, no big deal, of course.
