Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

Still got my fingers crossed for a deeper Little Inferno discount...that's the only thing left I really would like to get this sale.

I've played it and to be honest, I wouldn't recommend spending money to play it. Very dull for the most part.
But if you want to pacify the pyromaniac inside of you, it's pretty good for that.
Currently the 33% is not enough justification, I'd wait for lower prices (-75%) if you really want to get it.

happy new years everybody. Have fun trying not to write 2012 on everything for the next 3 months.

I think we should just pick a year, and stick with it. 1982 was good. We could just go with that.

A big thank you to SaintFaucet for the gift of Shad'O.

This looks like the kind of Tower Defense game I can really get my teeth sunk into.

Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!

Just watch this video (32 reasons why fable 3 sucks) and have no regrets ;).
I'm debating if to get Fable but I currently don't have an itch to get anything. I got Dragon age and Tropico 4 as gifts and it's hard to play any games with a 2 month old baby awake.

Oh, wow, that looks... really, really bad. Fable was pretty good, though, I'm told?
Haven't got around to Tropico 4, but Dragon Age will deliver some fun RPG. But yeah, 2 month old baby and gaming, kinda tough to juggle, I get that.

So what's the GWJ opinion on From Dust? Anyone know if it's any good?

Edited because of quote tags gone horribly wrong. But M0nk3yboy was too fast and quoted my horrible wreck of a post before I fixed it.

I loved it on the 360... What little I played of it.

Edit: amended for the lady

Just played through 30 flights of Lovin and trying to figure out what the hell i just did......

Thanks very much to Sally Nasty for the gift of Alan Wake. I've been curious about that one for quite awhile, but have never been quite sufficiently enabled, so voila! I am now enabled. Thank you, sir!

Preemptive strike successful! I hope you took my joke in the spirit in which it was intended:) I am quite excited to hear your impressions of Alan Wake, which was one of my favorite games of this generation.

Also, thanks very much for spacechem and orcs must die!

It was the year I was born, so I agree.

Happy 1982 everybody.

This came out in 1982

I've been traveling and haven't really had Internet, but I just found out that Krev gifted me Limbo. You're right, it wasn't on my wishlist but only because I really never wishlist Steam stuff (although the sale price notification feature will change that). I have wanted to play it though, so thanks!

Yeah, he keeps doing that. He's like some kind of generosity epidemic.

Thanks, Krev =)

I really liked it on the 360 and I bet it's better on the PC. The precision of the mouse would eliminate a lot of frustrations. I do wish it was a little more open in the sense that it felt more like a puzzle game with just a couple actual solutions, instead of an truly open game. But it was still great and pretty.

Anyone played Anna? I've been to chicken to play Amnesia, but I think I could handle Anna

Cyrex, looks like you have it already, any thoughts?

That girl looks stoked to be on the cover of that book. I wonder if they took more than one shot, or just figured that one was fine?

Any thoughts on Towns? Seems like a solid premise, but one that would be pretty easy to mess up...

I had that book when I was a kid. Why did you have to include the date now I feel old!

A few(several?) pages back, it was discussed. It's an alpha release, I believe, so if you're looking for a complete, polished product on the level of, say, Terraria, I don't think this is it.

Unfortunately, I don't recall the page number.

I have also been looking at Anna. Anybody? Enable / Disable

On Anna; there was this post way back on page 17 which disabled my purchase/interest.

I remember that it crashed at startup about 70% of the time. I looked at Steam's Towns hub at the time and everyone else was having trouble with it too. I'll buy it for $2.50 when it gets there. I remember someone saying that once you got the hang of it, it became really easy.

While you're there, check out the awesome farming video Archangel posted on page 16.

New dailies up. Seems to be "franchise day".

War of the Roses.
Transformers Franchise
Total War Franchise
Awesomenauts
Max Payne Franchise
Torchlight Franchise.

I had that book, as well. It, along with Byte, were essential parts of learning to code.

You, sir, are quite the gentleman!

Thanks for all the feedback, M0nk3yboy and IUMogg on From Dust. The pitch for it looks very interesting, but I'm going to try and show some restraint, as my pile is big enough as it is. There's always the next sale, right? Unless I end up springing for Dead Island instead.

So I hear that the community for War of the Roses is pretty dead, can anybody confirm that?

Also I feel like that is a dang good deal on Max Payne 3.

Finally, I find it funny that they include Viking: Battle for Asgard in the Total War bundle, must not sell much on its own...

It is a great deal on Max 3. I find myself surprised buy I think I'm going to skip Max 3. Max Payne 2 is quite likely my favorite game. For some reason, I just don't feel the compulsion to take the plunge on this one.

That would be crazy, it was released less than 3 months ago!

I think Chivalry has a larger community. Not sure War of Roses has the longevity from what I read.

My interest is low on it because they dropped Noir from it.
