Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

All the Steam tracking sites are broken for games played before Steam started tracking time played (which was approx. March 2009). So, if you were a Steam user prior to then, it will have you down for 0 hours for a game even if you have played it.

The other problem is how Steam tracks games sometimes, especially expansions that are started from the main game app. The expansion counts as a "game" even though you never "play" it since Steam will only track the time for the app you start not the use of the expansion.

For instance, it has me at 37% unplayed even though half the games it shows as having 0 hours I have indeed played. My unplayed percentage is probably really around 15-20%, most of those part of buying a package of some sort where I want two or three games out of many more.

Yeah I know Company of Heroes and Dawn of War II are like that. Launching CoH lets me play the expansions, so they show up with 0 hours, even though I've played their missions.

I voted the A-10 sim because it's both a deep discount and ear-hackingly difficult. This makes it an ideal gift for completionist friends you want to annoy.

I've played over half, but it says that I only have 67 games so I'm working with about half of what Delerat apparently has.

half, whoops I meant 10%!

Thanks to Cragmyre for KotOR2--I've been meaning to replay that with the restored-content mod, and now I don't have to figured where my old discs went!

Woke up this morning to find Audiosurf in my inbox! Thanks Eleima!

With a nick like Itsatrap, and you having it on your wishlist, I couldn't resist

I do have to say Thank You to krev for gifting me FTL. I've been going back and forth on whether to get it... now the decision is made for me!

Rubb Ed, when someone asks you if you're a god, or if you should buy FTL, you say YES.

Krev, you're the man. I don't know what Binary Domain is either but Giant Bomb says the storyline is bananas.

Thanks so much!

I feel good about this!

Question: Does one need to own the main game/expansions of Sins of a Solar Empire, to play Rebellion?

No; Rebellion is essentially a sequel and does not need any of the prior games to play. In fact, Sins Trinity is the combination of Sins OG, Diplomacy, and Entrenchment into a single title.

For anyone considering getting the Bioshock bundle, Amazon has both games for $5 total. I'd post a link, but I'm on my phone.

Seeing now Ticket to Ride DLC is on discount but it actually works out cheaper if I buy the complete pack. I already have the main game and Europe DLC, does anyone know if these will be giftable if I purchase the pack?

I am absolutely not even going to look at mine

Hah the farming sim won the vote, I'm actually tempted in getting it. Which is sad.

Also Reccetear is on sale, if you don't have that already what the hell is wrong with you. Go get it and play now.

Is War for cybertron any good?

It's a throwback shooter for sure. No cover, health packs and ammo packs to pick up, silly story (transformers silly, so... It's awesome). I had a great time with it.

But the voting's not over for another 8+ hours?

Wishful thinking.

Or maybe it's time travel.

Many thanks to Kommissar for the gift of Limbo!

As a bonus, my post thanking him pushes me 1 post closer to being promoted past Consultant

Is Payday+DLC worth it for an occasional blast with bots?

Wanted to gift a couple copies of Bioshock 2, and there's a 4-pack for $14.99, which is essentially buy 3, get one free at the sale price. Since I already own it, though, it won't let me check out, despite saying I can buy it as a gift.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Thanks to Dr_Awkward for the gift of Portal 2. Now I have no more excuses for not playing it.

Anyone play that Sherlock Holmes game? I played one a few years ago and it was pretty underwhelming, which prevents me from taking another shot on one even though I'd like it to be interesting.

Warning: Spoilers in both.

Sold! Now I just need that game to go on a crazy sale.

A big thanks to Bonus Eruptus for Bioshock 2! Thank you, kind sir.

I had this issue with SINs Rebellion during the last sale, what you can do is give the 4 pack to one of the people you'd like to give a copy to and ask them to distribute the extra copies according to your wishes. With goodjers this should be no problem at all.
