Damn, Zell, your QB is having a hell of a year!

Thanks...it would have been better had I not lost power during the first go at minn...I think I also have the best two pass rushers in college this year...(I think)...

Got my game in against OSU last night. Iowa wins, 38-13.

This game was very close for a long time. It was a 7-3 game with under 2 minutes to go in the first half, when OSU threw an INT, followed by Iowa throwing one, followed by an OSU fumble on three successive plays. Iowa scored a TD with 1:10 left in the first half, then promptly grabbed another INT, leading to a second TD with 0:58 left giving Iowa a 21-3 edge at the half.

Terrance Cochrane had both a great and rough game. He only ran for 36 yards, and he threw 3 INTs (including one where the MLB sat down right in front of my TE, and I threw it anyway...dumb). However, he also threw for 326 yards and 5 TDs.

Iowa's CB BJ Lowery grabbed an INT after recording 3 last week against Rutgers. On the other side of the field, CB Jordan Lomax grabbed 3 INTs in this game. So, Iowa's two starting CBs have a combined 10 INTs in 4 games so far this year. As a team, Iowa has 15 INTs in 4 games...almost 4 a game!

FYI, I put the wrong deadline date, deadline is Sunday night.

Waiting on Bonney, FYI. I think I have recruiting left, but I can quick take care of that today.

I won't do recruiting tonight, hard deadline is tomorrow (Feb 13) at 11:59pm ET

Looks like we've rolled: With a commitment from a 4* OLB, Iowa has now grabbed the #5 and #6 OLBs in this year's class.

Next week should see the commitment of the #21 QB...but don't be fooled. He's a twin of my current QB, with WR speed and enough throwing skills to get the job done.

The #2 HB, #2 FS, and #1 MLB are all in the mix, as well. Could be a good class!

Oh, and there's a mid-ranked CB that I have to get...if only because Zell wants him, too!

Wow, just noticed that Notre Dame has gone 0-3 so far this season!!

League is indeed rolled. Notre Dame is (0-3). Temple is (3-0).

Hard 5-day Sim schedule. You have all been warned. Happy V-day.

Week 5 League Schedule:
#18-Georgia Tech (Shag26) at #16-Virginia Tech (XBox)
#8-Iowa (Firesloth) at Minnesota (XBox)
#6-North Carolina (ZellbrigeN26) at Illinois (XBox)
#24-Rutgers (Kush15) at Wake Forest (XBox)
Louisville (XBox) at #11-UCLA (Wi11Nick)

Iowa beats Minnesota 45-3. Minnesota was surprisingly stout in some ways (the game was only 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter). They only gave up 1 sack, and just as I was thinking they hadn't thrown an interception yet, they threw a pick-6 in the 3rd quarter. Iowa also got a 70 yard punt return TD.

Terrance Cochrane went 19-25 for 238 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INTs! He also ran for 56 yards on 8 carries. However, I'm not sure that includes yardage from a 25 yard scamper on which he tried to muscle his way into the endzone and got absolutely hammered by a defender, coughing up the ball at the 1 yard line.

Iowa's defense played very well. Minnesota was 2-14 on 3rd down (they started 0-9) and had 3 yards rushing on 20 attempts (remember, only 1 sack...).

Good times...

See...I had a similar game at first, until that damned picture fell off the wall
Minnesota is a gimme game.

Yeah...I've got several of those coming in the next few weeks.

League deadline is tomorrow, FYI. League is losing steam

I'LL BE GETTING MY GAME IN TODAY...JUST BEEN REALLY BUSY SINCE I HAD COMPANY COME IN FROM ALASKA.

ALSO, CHECK OUT THE CONSPIRACY THEORY SURROUNDING DENVER INTERNATIONAL. THERE IS SOME CRAZY STUFF HAPPENING OUT THERE THAT XEKNOS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION WHEN WE PICKED UP SAID COMPANY THIS WEEKEND.

I don't know...all caps? I suspect you're some sort of Illuminati plant! Where the hell is Zell, and what have you done with him??

I will get my game and recruiting done today at some point. Just got back from AC. Finished at the final table where we all decided to split the pot evenly amongst the 10 of us. Overall up $50 for the weekend. Woohoo!

Game played...Looking forward to the B1G championship between Hawkeyes & Tarheels.

Yeah, we're only about 5 games in, but it looks headed that way...especially since I still have Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue on my schedule.

3:03 to go, Rutgers had a 28-7 lead.

-Wake Forest TD, 28-14
-Onside kick recovered (traveled 5 yards, yet my XBOX controlled player decided to put a hand on it as he ran past it)
-Wake Forest TD, 28-21
-Onside kick recovered
-Wake Forest TD with 12 seconds left, 28-28

OT, Dodd gets intercepted. Wake Forest gets into FG range.

Rutgers was flagged for 7 holding penalties, including 3 consecutive. Both my starting QB and HB were knocked out of the game.

If you don't get your game in tonight, I'm rolling. I'm taking this out on the league.

OUCH.

Dang Kush...thats a crappy turnaround.

Mind you, I took the 28-7 lead at 3:03, so they scored 3 TDs in LESS than 3 minutes. WF could do nothing offensively for 3 1/2 quarters, and now, all of a sudden, they were Alabama on offense.

Oh well, rolling the league now.

Iowa gets their QB of the future. But not all is rosy on the recruiting front: I'm in danger of losing Iowa as a pipeline state!

5-day league sim period again (no HvH games). Good luck!

Week 6 League Schedule:

#7-Iowa (Firesloth) at Notre Dame (XBox)
#25 Wisconsin (XBox) at #5-North Carolina (ZellbrigeN26)

Wake Forest (XBox) at #21-UCLA (Wi11Nick)

Iowa continues Notre Dame's pain, whipping them 48-14. ND's run defense was pretty good, but their secondary was porous, as Iowa's QB Terrance Cochrane threw for 397 yards on 23/30 passing, with 4 TD passes and 1 TD rushing. FB Brad Rodgers caught 3 of those TD passes! At one point the Iowa offense was 9/9 on 3rd down conversions.

Iowa's defense caused 6 turnovers – 4 INTs and 2 fumbles. ND had a total of 29 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

UNC bumps the badgers back out of the rankings. The game was good for my ground stats. 27 carries for 219 yards, Exact opposite of the LSU game. That said, I threw 4 interceptions with my starter. Two of which were total crap though. I uploaded the two offending INTS for review. One was bobbled by at least 5 players before being picked off, the other one CLEARLY hits the ground before the LB scoops it up and runs...I even challenged it and lost. Other than that, it was a fun game of momentum swings. I think Wisconsin just kinda quit during the third quarter.

So...Firesloth. Not only will we (most likely) be playing for the Conference championship and fighting over that CB. I just noticed that your QB and Mine are both in the running for Heisman. I wonder who will win the trophies? Its gonna be good, lol.

Yup! Maybe the Heisman race will come down to the Big 10 championship game...

I was disappointed last week – it was the first week that one of my players wasn't a Big 10 player of the week...and one of yours was!

The Yellow Jackets cruise to a 27-10 victory against Louisville. The freshman QB was rattleed again on the road, but held on the complete some cruicial passes in the end. The defense was monsterous in the second balf causing a fumble and returning back for a score. Next up is a home game against Clemson, as Tech tries to avenge the loss from last year at Death Valley. After that is a crucial matchup against UNC and the Heisman hopeful, Bryn Renner.
