Welcome to Season II everyone:

LEAGUE DEADLINE: Sunday, January 27th @ 11:59pm ET

Week 1 League Schedule:
#10-Arkansas (XBox) at Georgia Tech (Shag26)
#14-Iowa (Firesloth) at #3-Virginia Tech (XBox)

BYE WEEK:
#13-UCLA (Wi11Nick)

BTW, I originially put 1/29 as the deadline, it's actually 1/27, since no one has a HvH game.

*EDIT*
I've added a "user list" to the mail thread post. I have everyone listed and added their team's rankings. I'm also going to add rankings to the listed schedule and weekly results.

Woo-hoo! I will try and get both of games in tonight!

Safety! Hey, this Iowa team is pretty good!

Terrance Cochrane. Remember that name, as evidently I recruited the next Cam Newton. I think the best thing that happened to my team this off-season is that my 90+ rated QB went to the pros, because Cochrane has WR speed and throws very well.

#14 Iowa crushes #3 VaTech, 64-7...even though they trailed at the end of the first quarter 7-3. Terrance Cochrane, a JUCO player in his first game with Iowa, threw for 264 yards on 21 attempts and gained 75 yards on the ground. He threw for 5 TDs and ran for 2 more.

My defense was pretty good, too. They contributed a safety and forced 5 turnovers (they only recovered 2 fumbles, but forced a total of 6) while sacking the VT QB 4 times. The defense had 17 tackles for a loss. VaTech had 182 yards of offense, including 187 passing yards.

Oh, and my kicker kicked a 49 yard FG easily, had both of his punts land inside the 20 (the first at the 1 yard line), while one of the two kick-offs from VT resulted in a 64 yard return.

Pretty much everything worked as well as it possibly could have!

EDIT: Kush, you're left...

Yeah yeah, we're waiting on me. I will try to get this done early tomorrow morning the latest.

We're on to week 2. Did my recruiting and grabbed an instant commit from the #3 DT. And, he's got a great name for a defensive lineman: Mike Justice.

Unfortunately I play Northern Illinois this week. Fortunately it will help improve Terrance Cochrane's Heisman stats! (He popped up at #5 this week, but there's no way he can continue to get stats like last week.)

And for the first time in league history, we're all ranked!

#9-North Carolina (ZellbrigeN26)

LEAGUE DEADLINE: Wednesday, January 30th @ 11:59pm ET

No HvH, 5-day Sim period. Good Luck!

Word to the wise, if anyone else plays against LSU...YOU CAN NOT RUN AGAINST THEM AT ALL! DONT EVEN TRY IT. My HB is a 97 overall, and He got stuffed and had a FFMB...dont waste your time.

Overtime Thriller in Death Valley. LSU came out strong against UNC taking a 14-0 lead at the end of the first. Everything that could go wrong, did. Fumble, 2 three-n-outs and Defense couldnt stop LSU Offense.
Second Quarter rolls around and 'UNC comes alive, deciding to ditch the run for a pure aerial attack. Looks to be a game again as there is just 47 secs left in the half with the score tied 28-28. HA! Says the Tigers and bombs a pass downfield for a TD with six secs to go. Halftime 35-28 favor of boys in Gold.
They get the ball at the start of the second half...and for the first time this game, are held to just a FG. The offensive fireworks would continue though, making it 42-38 at the end of the third, this time in favor of UNC.
The 4th quarter starts and brings with it turnover galore for Renner, who ended up coughing it up three times (Two Ints and a Fumble). UNC had Multiple opportunities to put the game away and it would not be so. LSU takes the lead, then UNC would take it back...LSU thought they had it, converting a two pointer with less than a minute left in the game to go up 63-56. UNC would return the favor from the last half though, and score the tying TD with only a handful of seconds left.
LETS HEAD TO OVERTIME. UNC is able to punch it in on a third down and then runs a fake FG to take it 71-63. LSU responds with a TD...but are forced to try the 2-pt conversion and after one missed tackle, UNC SS Tre Boston said NO, and tackled HB Michael Ford just short of the goal line. Final Score 71-69 UNC.

Total Offense Yardage !!!
UNC-817
LSU-795

That was easily one of the most frustrating, yet fun games I have played on NCAA 13. I looked at my upcoming schedule...its going to be a long hard road. IF you include the Vols from last week while they were ranked, Half of my opponents are in the Top 25. Ouch. Plus the Top 3 QBs in yardage are UNC, LSU, and Tenn...thats a rough start to the season. Oh well...made for some close and interesting games.

Wow, sounds like a great game! Very exciting.

On the other hand...Iowa bested Northern Illinois, 44-0.

Iowa's defense had a fumble recovery, and 5 INTs (including one thrown by the punter!!). My MLB was player of the game with 6 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 INTs, and a sack. NIU finished with 146 yards of offense and didn't convert a 3rd down until late in the 4th (they finished 2-16 on 3rd down).

Iowa had 7 holding calls go against them. 7!

Iowa's Terrance Cochrane didn't have a great day throwing the ball: 15/32 (46%), 256 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs. However, he also added 49 yards on the ground, including a 20 yard option run that saw him bounce off a defender behind the line, then put a killer spin move on a safety at the 5 yard line that got him the TD.

Iowa once again started slow, only scoring 3 points in the 1st quarter. The 2nd and 3rd quarters are where it's at: Iowa scored 34 points between them. Thus, in two games, Iowa has scored 85 points in the middle two quarters compared with 108 total points total.

Play NIU: Iowa averaged 8 yards a carry!

Rutgers knocks off Oregon in their first game without Chip Kelly, 23-10. Rutgers gave up the first points on a bogus interception that hit the ground (saving replay), but held Oregon to a FG attempt for a 3-0 lead. Rutgers built a 17-10 halftime lead, and managed to hold Oregon scoreless in the 2nd half for the win.

Bonney, are you able to play in the next two days? If you can't, I want to try to roll by Friday night the latest.

Of that list, the Thur., Fri. times right at 9 pm are probably best. I'll look into the weekend times.

Sounds good. I'll be sure to make pizza that night for me and Mrs. Kush, I'll put it in at halftime

Rolling league shortly

Wow, got instant commits from a 5* WR and 4* OLB and MLB this week to go with the 4* DT from last week!

Firesloth, which day would you like to play?

*EDIT*
I just logged on to my XBox, it's the first time I saw your message from last night. I was just on that night to roll the league.

I'm on now, but I'm probably just going to play some Lego Star Wars while the wife is passed out.

So pissed...SO PISSED. I was having an epic game against minn. Up 77-10 with 4 minutes to go in the 4th. My starting QB was 19-21 with 4 tds and 400+ yards. My second string had been playing since the start of the second half and my Defense had forced 5 turnovers while I had none (thats rare for me). I was rocking it...then disaster. A picture that had been hanging on my wall fell, hit the power cord to the surge protector and pulled it out of the socket enough to cause a power failure. Lost all those stats. Best game (stat wise) of the season, and all wasted due to a mistake on not finding a stud before hanging a picture in drywall. (ok...now that I said that, I sound {ableist slur} and prob deserve that happening)

Anyway, will replay it tomorrow night...dont feel like doing it all over again.

Wow. That's epic! When I started reading, I assumed the game just froze on you, but you have a much better story!

(By the way, if it looks like you are somehow going to lose the next go, I advocate rage quitting and playing again...but, to be fair, it's Minnesota! )

Kush and I got our game in, and Iowa beat Rutgers 35-23. Kush had some bad luck and got in a hole early. He had a nice long drive to start the game that stalled a bit. My WR Kevon Martin Manley returned the resulting punt 75 yards for a TD. Then Kush had another very long drive until my CB grabbed an INT, returning it 73 yards for a TD. I was up 14-0 before my offense ever took the field. After that, things were pretty even.

My CB BJ Lowery was player of the game, grabbing 3 INTs and scoring one TD. QB Terrance Cochrane had a middling day, going 9/17 for 89 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. However, he also added 78 rushing yards on 11 carries (making him Iowa's leading rusher), including a 36 yard option run for a TD and a critical 16 yard scramble just before the half that allowed Iowa to score a TD a bit later.

Bad news on both sides, as Rutgers' starting TE went down for the season with a broken collarbone. The football gods wanted some parity, however, and Iowa's star WR Martin Manley also went down for the season with a broken collarbone. Ugh. That's a big hit for me.

Maybe the game will glitch in such a way that those two are back on the field next week!!

Good game, Kush. Thanks for playing. Sorry I couldn't use a mic tonight.

It was a good game Firesloth, sorry I am just posting now. The 14-0 hole hurt, and I was never able to recover. You really ran that option play to perfection, even when I saw it coming the last time you ran it, your tackle kicked me out on a perfect block. I am hoping to get a rematch later this season!

I believe we're waiting on Zell and Bonney. Deadline is tomorrow gentlemen.

*EDIT*
Just Bonney, sorry Zell
