PS+ Plus General PSN Game Talk

Yep!

How dare you suggest that the penny doesn't have value!

Not requiring me to spend another 9 dollars to cover the penny? Priceless...or maybe 9 dollars...its definitely worth something.

It's 9/10 of a cent now? It used to be 8/10! I'm outraged, I think I'll write my congressman.

I can't wait for the PSN update today, I want to play Wild Arms again.

Am I missing this weeks PSblog post for the store update? Or is this week just the Vita stuff?

They just rolled it into the monthly one, but I think it's Spec Ops: The Line this week.

The gave us a full month release list like they do for the UK - PS+ March Update

So is the stuff that's "leaving PS+" mean I can't play it anymore after that date, or you just can't "buy/download it for free" after that date?

If it's the former, that would mean I'd need to try Quantum Conundrum this week.

Can't buy/download it anymore. Once you've got it in your history, you can download it at any time as long as you're PS+ subscriber.

The latter.

Once you get something for free through PS+, you always have it as long as you have an active PS+ account. Which means if you lapse, it's all there should you resubscribe.

It's the latter. Just make sure you "buy it" so that it shows up on your download history and you can download/play it anytime so long as you are still a Plus member.

EDIT: Beaten.

EDIT 2: But apparently beat everybody else.

I thought that's how it worked. But thanks for the 4? confirmations in 3 minutes.

Still a bit sad I missed the new Double Dragon a few months back... hopefully it will make a return.

Ok, since like 4 others already responded, I'm editing.

They really aren't telling us what's dropping each week for PS+ now? We just have to wait and log on to see? That's annoying.

No, you really aren't. It's bad and painful to the ears.

Correct.

I'm leaving my double tannhausered post up so I can be laughed at.

Spec Ops was a fun ride for the narrative bits. Very much worth playing for free. I'd recommend putting it on easy and just sailing through.

I had to delete it just so it wouldn't blast it's music at me every time passed over it trying to get to Unfinished Swan.

Ah, come on! No love for the music? I haven't played the game, but really enjoy its soundtrack (cheese and all) . I rather like Jake Kaufman's music in general, though (his soundtrack to Mighty Switch Force is one of my favorites).

Jeez it's only 71 at metacritic. You guys make it sound much worse.

I guess I could clarify, it's the voices that are the problem. I think the quick bit of the soudtrack I sampled was good.

Double Dragon seems pretty fun from the couple of hours I've put into it. The difficulty curve is a bit high compared to traditional brawlers though.

I played through Spec Ops in one sitting, then I deleted it. I didn't want the temptation to play through it again, just to see different choices. Well worth the time.

I used to be able to put the game in my cart, "buy it," but opt not to download it. Now I put it in my cart, "buy it," and then it downloads. What am I doing wrong? I want to add games to my download list for a future download not have to install all that comes my way.

Don't know, I'm using the web store to buy everything now, and then I just go to download history on the PS3 and can download purchases from there.

What I've been trying is to just cancel the download once it begins. Afterwards, when I'm browsing titles in the store, these games still show up as Purchased. That being said, I haven't tried downloading any of said titles afterwards (I should do so), but I'm hoping this method works.

It should. That's how it worked before they changed it. I'm not sure why they changed it back to the old method. The other one was a lot easier and seemed much more logical.

I've been playing through it in bits and pieces, in chapter 6 now. Really enjoying it so far but haven't gotten to any moral decisions yet. Wouldn't it have been great if Uncharted's 3rd person shooting felt like this? Very satisfying.

No. I thought Spec Ops' combat was super boring. That's why i decided to just switch to easy a couple hours in. It was so one dimensional.

Uncharted had some combat issues (namely too many enemies that could 1 shot you with explosives and excessive flanking), but the combat was always engaging. I would definitely not want that.

It's kind of a weird comparison anyways, as Spec Ops is just a shooter, so the camera is perpetually locked in 3rd person shooter mode.

The new Ghost Recon is a great third-person tactical shooter. It is worth a buy if it ever comes up for a PS+ discount. The only downside to the game is a fairly thin and forgettable narrative. Spec Ops is probably more interesting in that regard.

I don't think the narrative changes much is Spec Ops with the different choices. It certainly isn't Mass Effect.
