Spartacus War of the Damned

New Spartacus tonight. They wage war on zombies this season.

Oh boy if you like watching sons rape their mothers this episode the latest episode is for you. If that isn't your thing this episode is going to suck. Oh if like boardgames and don't like mother rape there were more boardgames than rape, so there's that.

His mother is the blonde back in Rome--that was his father's slave. So it's less horrifyingly Greek tragic, and more just horrifying.

Ceasar is a bad ass.

Ahhh I thought she was being all motherly because she was his mother. His father seemed like the type of guy that wouldn't let his son be a slave even if the mother was. Still a horrible thing to do but a lot less horrible knowing they aren't related.

Yeah. In the end credits, in the Crassus still, his mother is the blonde lady--she looks a lot like Blondie from the first few seasons. She only had a scene or two in the first episode where Crassus told her she should stay in Rome. So much sh*t has gone down, it'd be easy to miss or forget.

It was a really brutal scene, but I think it quite effectively made the point that even a very well-kept slave is still a slave, and will be treated accordingly--it's fundamentally dehumanizing, and fancy digs won't make anyone forget that. The idea of the "kindly master" is accordingly flawed.

I may not have mentioned I really love this show--it's trashy, but it's immaculately crafted, awesome trash.

The last time I was this shocked was when I watched Caligula. Looks like things are wrapping up now. Only have a few main characters left to kill or ride off into the sunset hopefully without more butt rape. I'll be very surprised if that kid makes it out alive.

I've given up on the series. Just can't stand the grammar anymore. And the plot isn't doing much for me either lately.
But if I hear one more sentence with the word 'absent' in it, I will explode lol

Heh, you've obviously never seen Oz, then.

Lugo went down like a boss. I mean, everyone did, but Lugo had me screaming "NOOOOOOOO!" then cheering "YEEEEEEEEEEES!"

I hereby pour one out for all. And the homage to Kubrick's Spartacus f*cking ruled.
