Ninokuni: The Another World (Ghibli + Level 5 RPG) coming to PS3

All mine says is

"SOLD OUT! Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition Club Namco Exclusive" then "Boxed Shipment" under that. No "In Process" or any other indications of status.

I haven't actually wanted a game this much in a long time so I just ordered from Amazon. If I get two I will return the Amazon one or sell it. In some ways it would be better if Namco screwed up because I payed for the Wizard Edtion so $100 but only $60 for the Amazon one. I will miss out on the extras but I save $40.

Under "My Order History" is where I'm looking at.

If they don't get back to me by tomorrow I'm going to order a copy off Amazon too. But unlike you I really do want the Wizard Edition so if they both come through I'd just sell the Amazon copy or something.

Yup, that is what i am under as well. Nothing about a status.

Like I said I won't suffer, and I will save $40 but it does irk me that they are so incompetent.

Digital River gave some of us fits when proleordering Darksiders 2 as well.

I got a reply from NB, basically saying to make the order again. Can't happen, obviously. I am considering my options regarding the PS3 purchase now.

Whoa whoa whoa....Let's not get crazysauce up in here. You can still get the game--and at a discount, in fact!

Very true.

I get it though, this kind of thing would sour me from purchasing the game at all, if it happened to me.

Yeah, Digital River seems to be the Topspin Media of games. They seem to be completely inept companies.

They did OK during the Square Enix sale where I got Final Fantasy 13-2 for $10. They still over-sold and I had to wait for a restock, but FF13-2 wasn't a limited-print item. I seem to recall Digital River being lambasted in the past for being terrible, I try to avoid doing business with them if at all possible.

My copy hasn't arrived yet! I'm getting twitchy...
Also, GT Review.

Yeah DigitalRiver has a long reputation of suck. They sold download games and product for many places, including Microsoft Windows, and they are some of the idiots that charge money for "download protection" or whatever they called it, basically anything allowing you to redownload the title you bought after a year. So instead of actually buying something it was almost like you were temporarily renting it. They are a joke.

Ditto with me. Scored a handful of PSP games from that even though the site let me order "Sold Out" items. Bizarre.

I can't say I'm being overwhelmed by the information updates from Digital River. My card was charged this morning, but I don't have any clear indication that my order has shipped (no tracking number, or even an "In process" placeholder).

Frustrating, to say the least!

What a cluster. My card got charged this morning and it says this on my order.

SOLD OUT! Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition Club Namco Exclusive
Boxed Shipment

I click on "view invoice" and get this.

I'm remembering now why I opted to not pre-order the Wizard's Edition, and why I have a pretty firm rule of only buying things from Amazon. My condolences to all of you encountering problems.

That GT review got me really stoked, I still can't get over how amazing the game looks. I really want to get to powering up my familiars, hurry up OnTrac!

EDIT: Oh wait, it's delivered. That just means my office mail is sorting it now, hurray!

It's burning a hole in my kitchen counter as we speak. While I was there at the gamestore the manager gave me a really really good deal on a shipping-damaged guide (two very bent corners) so I at least have the info if not the "cool" book. I don't mind that it's damaged - it's going to get used to death here anyways between me and all the kids.

I have a vague thought of replacing the bent cover with a mockup of the real one. Uh-oh! Crafty-sense is tingling....

Surely there's a wiki up by now for the Japanese version that's been out for a while? Would you really need a guide book?

I don't need it. I wouldn't have bought one if he hadn't offered me this at the price he set.

But with all the knees and elbows around here, having the physical book is very helpful. This isn't my first rodeo. With all the spouses/SO's to deal with now I've got twice the people and twice the fun.

There's an in-game version of the Wizard's Guide, which you absolutely do need all over the place. So yes, a guide is required, but it's also given to you. Unless if you're talking about the game guide, ala Brady, in which case ignore what I just said.

Looks like the in-game book is high quality too.

I was talking about a Brady. We're going to have four or five concurrent games running, and people who aren't playing often want to research stuff for their game while it's the other person's turn. Having the physical book frees that up.

The Prima hardcover guide comes out on the 28th, and looks pretty sweet. I've really liked the last two hardcover guides I bought, for Dark Souls and Skyrim, so I'm really tempted to jump on this one too. Hell, just for a list of familiars it would be incredibly useful.

I feel bad for yall who got burned by the special edition shipping, but today is a day off for me and the game has been shipped. The problem is that it's in the mailbox...and the key to the mailbox is still at work for another 4 hours.

First World problems.

I just double-checked, and this is the Pima Guide. I haven't opened it yet, and it looks pretty sweet.

Nice, I found the Amazon preview of it:

which looks pretty awesome. I just ordered myself one.

That's it. Just bend and fox both the outer corners all to heck and that's what I've got here. But I got it for five bucks, so I'm happy. I don't buy these to collect. I buy these to get thumbed-through and read over and over.

Wow.

Looking at that in-game is really going to extend your play time counter.

I just found out that there is a lot of custom box art out there. Here's a Ni No Kuni one. The actual box art for Ni No Kuni is pretty good, though.

Edit: I think they stole some stuff from Ico there, though. Would be cool if you tweaked it a bit.

I have played the game for an hour, and am going to go back to it when I hit post here.

Not sayin'.

Just sayin'.

Fuuuuuuuuuuu

So I checked my statement and I paid the full amount via PayPal on June 30th, 2012. My order also lists it the same and gets the same error. I'm guessing the server error is due to them being slammed by everyone. I'm hoping the name "SOLD OUT" is just a designation and not telling me that the item for which I paid in full on the day it was announced isn't coming to me...
