Ninokuni: The Another World (Ghibli + Level 5 RPG) coming to PS3

Just... wow.

Just announced-- it's DOWNLOAD only!

(not really... Just wanted to pop Lard's balloon for a while ;))

Impressions of the second trailer:

Studio Ghibli + Level 5 seems like such a natural fit too.

Woooow, that is just beautiful.

You can try, but I am too excited about this game!

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! \(^^)/

How are they going to do the spellcasting system on PS3? The way I figure it, they have three options:

1) Ditch the drawing element and go with a traditional menu system (lame).
2) Let you draw the symbols using the analog sticks (lamer).
3) Move support. (lamest)

Fixed that for you. I don't care about drawing with analog sticks. It worked fine in Okami, I'm sure it'll work fine here.

I think my dream game would have this quality of animation but be Zelda. If a Zelda game came out that looked like this... I would get in line now.

Edited to make sense

That would be...I don't even want to think about it. I just love how cell-shading looks. Wind Waker is still one of the best looking games ever imo. [/quote]

You guys do know that the next Zelda is cel-shaded, right? Yeah, it's not the same style of cel-shading and it's not HD and it basically just looks like Twilight Princess made of brightly-colored paint, but still.

I think that's kinda the point.

I like the art style.

Me too. I've really liked the way all of the Zelda games have looked, though. But I digress...

Yeah, same here. Been planning on getting one anyways since there's a few games I'd like (and I don't hav a Blu-Ray player yet), but oh man, this just moved it to 2nd in the WANT! list (behind RB3).

I'm hit or miss on JRPGs (I've obsessively completed some, and get bored as sh*t with others), but I'm an absolute Ghibli fanboi and will totally be getting this.

New trailer.

Word on the street from TGS is that it's an incredibly beautiful, but otherwise by the numbers jrpg.

Looks like it's supposed to come out early next year in NA:

Yay!

(Edit: Opinionated Viewpoint Warning!)

I'm very glad I ignored the PSN woes and got a Playstation 3 this year. While the Xbox wallows in a morass of Kinect enabled half-games (Forza 4 excepted), it seems like the stable of PS3 exclusives grows ever more compelling.

May I join in on this celebration?

I think you just did, and welcome to the dance party!

I am SO buying a ticket to this particular party!

I wonder if we'll get any kind of demo?

Some new direct feed footage (though only 480p)

If you had just waited 24 hours and 12 minutes to post that, you would have resurrected this thread exactly 1 year later.

Also, hell yes!

I am watching it now and it is wonderful! I can't wait to play the game.

This looks amazing. I can't wait!

I couldn't resist watching. That looks insanely good.

Even if this turns out to be as bland and boring as other Level-5 games have been this generation (imho), the charm of the look and feel is likely to overpower that. There's no way I pass this game up. Props to Ghibli.

So this is coming to the US DS? Or what?

I think just the PS3 version is coming to the US.

Ugh. Bummer.

Bummer, yes. Worth buying a PS3 for? Absolutely.
