NFL Playoff Bonanza Contest

1st: Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Seattle, Green Bay

2nd: Denver, New England, San Francisco, Seattle

SB: San Francisco over New England (59 points)

Edit: for SF winning over NE. I knew I'd mess something up. And Akers kicks the winning FG with two seconds left, vilifying all of us naysayers.

1st: Houston, Indy, Seattle, Green Bay
2nd: New England, Denver, Seattle, Green Bay
Super Bowl: Denver over Green Bay (51 total points)

I want to see Washington make it at least to the second round because they're so much fun to watch, even if they swooped in and took the division from my Giants.

I feel there's no denying Denver. Top notch defense and Manning has stepped in and made it his team. It will be exciting to see an Indy vs. Denver matchup.

Baltimore and Atlanta will choke again. I consider anything other than New England winning a satisfactory end to an interesting season.

1st: Houston, Indy, Green Bay, Seattle
2nd: Denver, New England, Seattle, Green Bay
SB: Denver over Green Bay (41 points)

1st Round: Houston, Baltimore, Green Bay, Seattle
2nd Round: Denver, New England, Atlanta, San Francisco
Super Bowl: New England over San Francisco (55 total points)

*EDIT*

1st: Houston, Baltimore, Green Bay, Seattle
2nd Denver, New England, SF, Seattle
SB: Denver over SF (52)

EDIT

changed my first round pick.. went with Baltimore.

1st: Houston, Baltimore, Green Bay, Seattle
2nd: Denver, NE, Seattle, GB
SB: GB over Denver (52)

1st Round: Green Bay, Seattle, Baltimore, Houston
2nd Round: Green Bay, Seattle, Denver, New England
Super Bowl: Seattle over Denver (60)

I really think Denver would give Seattle fits(pass-rush) but the problem with facing New England is the winner is just whomever has the ball in the end so I'll hope for Denver.

Edit: Picking different points to differentiate myself from Minase.

Edit again: Not feeling the Indy love anymore, changed to Baltimore winning 1st round.

1st: Cincinnati, Green Bay, Baltimore, Seattle

2nd: Denver, NE, Seattle, San Francisco

SB: Denver over Seattle (41)

Only about 4 hours until the first kickoff, then everything locks. I will link the standings spreadsheet at some point tonight.

Well I guess I should be consistent with my weekly thread picks.

Round 1: Texans, Packers, Ravens, Redskins.
Round 2: Broncos, Patriots, Redskins, 49ers
Super Bowl: 49ers over Broncos (45)

Special note, it if is 49ers/Broncos I will probably end up at the game. One of my best friends (and best man at my wedding) grew up a Broncos fan while I was a 49ers fan. Got the best of him in 1990 and our 10/9 year-old selves made a pact to go to the game if we were both ever there again. This feels like the closest chance we've both had in a while.

18 mins to get picks in, didn't realize it was a 4:30pm ET start time

Round 1: Texans, Packers, Ravens, Seahawks
Round 2: Broncos, Texans, Seahawks, 49ers
Super Bowl: Texans over 49ers

Scrambled to get picks in. Not even sure this scenario is possible.

It is a possible scenario, but give me a tie-breaker (total points scored in the Super Bowl). I'll accept that even after the first game starts, but try to get it to me by Sunday night.

Aside from Fedaykin's point total, this game is officially locked. Good luck everyone!

Afraid to edit my post - 55 points total in the Super Bowl. Thanks for the heads up, Kush!

Thanks! Spreadsheet is complete, loading it to Google Docs now.

Huh. A lot of people expecting a 24-21 Super Bowl.

After 3 games, only 9 out of 26 have a perfect sheet.

7 out of 26 have a perfect sheet after 4 games. Updated spreadsheet

Ah I did choose SF to win not Denver as you have in your Spreadsheet.

I will correct that. Thanks.

*EDIT*
It has been corrected on my local spreadsheet, but Google Docs is being a little bitch right now. It will look fine when I push it out for the 2nd round results.

Edit again: Not feeling the Indy love anymore, changed to Baltimore winning 1st round.

Hey Kush, I think I was a little too subtle on my edit but it still shows Friday as the time stamp. I changed my pick of Indy to Baltimore.

I saw the points change, not the game change. It's legit, I will make the change.

Woohoo! Last-second picks with little thought defy karmic justice in week one!

So is anyone that picked the Skins to make the Superbowl mathematically eliminated at this point?

Pretty much, here's the updated spreadsheet

If you're in red, you're done. Doesn't mean you can't finish high, but you can't finish #1.

BTW S0LIDARITY, you and I come down to the winner of the Seattle/Atlanta matchup, it's the only game we picked different. Good luck:

I noticed we had a really similar bracket. Hopefully great minds think alike. Carlbear will have a huge advantage if GB wins this weekend too, which makes me concerned about my picks after reading Barnwell's Grantland article today.

Barnwell's article TL;DR

Spoiler:

Justin Smith is the keystone of a successful 49ers pass rush.

Nate Silver was on ESPN this morning saying NE-Sea for the Super Bowl. As much as he's been right I have to hope this is the time he's wrong.
