Pokemon Gotta Catch-Em-All

I did some mad Pokesexing last night and have a whole bunch of old school Pokes to hand out. Here's the list (all my trade pokemon, not just the ones I breeded):

5 Totodiles (all male)
1 Larvitar
2 Ralts (1 male, 1 female)
1 Kirlia (evolved form of Ralts, male)
1 Teddiursa
7 Snorunts (3 male, 4 female - this particular breed has two different evolutions depending on gender)
1 Wailmer
1 Swablu
1 Budew
1 Haunter
1 Rattata
1 Cubone
1 Kadabra
1 Taillow
1 Dratini
1 Arcanine
1 Grovyle
1 Combusken
1 Marshtomp
1 Manaphy
1 Bulbasaur
3 Tepig
1 Beedrill
1 Butterfree
3 Oshawott
1 Chikorita
1 Snivy
4 Eevee (halfway split between male and female)
3 Pansear
1 Charmander
1 Monferno
1 Regice
1 Entei
1 Suicune

I'll be doing some more breeding later, so if there's a particular Pokemon you want, let me know. If I have it available, I'll pop one out for you.

I do indeed have Tynamo's for anyone who wants them. They have a 50/50 ratio too, so I can give you girls if you'd like to breed them yourself. I should be available most of tonight.

(Give me a heads up if you want a girl, I only have one extra left, so I'll have to do another breeding run if so.)

I haven't started breeding the Tirtuoga's yet, does anyone need those? I still have a decent stock of (male) Archens.

A girl electra-sperm. LuLz
I'll be on after 10 Central, otherwise I'll be available most of the evening on Thursday. I'll post here tonight to see if I can catch you before it gets too late.

I was lucky enough to get a female Tirtuoga on my first shot, so I can help with breeding baby turtles. So far I don't have many with good Egg moves to hand out, but I do have a (so far small) stock of Simsears with Fire Punch and Facade available.

Hey dhelor, I'd love to pick one of those female Eevees off you if you don't mind. It's D&D night, so I won't be home till later, but that's probably just getting to dinnertime out where you are anyway.

I have not a ton of stuff, but some. I think the best thing I've got recently that I don't see on your list already is a Riolu. Otherwise, I guess I'm asking for blanks and postage, as they used to say. =)

Yeah, the only thing (besides legendaries*) I really need from the current generation is a Vullaby, which I'll be getting from Blind later tonight. Just grab any random pokemon from the field and you can catch me later this evening.

*Speaking of, anyone with Black caught a Tornadus yet? Need to at least see it so I can grab one from the GTS.

I got the Tornadus event but it seems like a huge pain to catch. If you have an easy method to get him I'll try, otherwise I want to push my way through Victory Road etc asap.

You have to either use the masterball or have a pokemon that has a move that prevents it from fleeing. It's the best one to use the masterball on though since it's the only "roamer" legendary in the game.

Yeah, that's what I did. There's not really any other pokemon that absolutely NEEDS a Master Ball. Kyurem was fairly easy to catch, Volcarona took some work but I got her as well, and the Musketeer Trio (Cobalion et al) were a cinch.

PS: I'm doing some more breeding. So far I've made a few Piplups, a Cherubi, a Murkow, some Burmys, a Stunky, a Nosepass, and a Finneon. Working my way through the Gen IV pokemon, so if there's a particular one someone wants, let me know.

Haha, some of those I can't even recall by name. 649 is a large number.

Anyway, I guess I'll see about catching Tornadus now. Once I've found it or given up we can swap back and forth I guess. I'll post again when I'm ready.

There's a number of things on that list I'm interested in, but I thought you had to finish the game before you could trade for older pokemon? Either way, I have an endgame save on Pearl and a half-way on SoulSilver that I need to scavenge before I go begging for stuff I might have already.

Side note: Pokemon Black is for sure sneaking its way into my future GOTY internal debate. I haven't had this much fun with a portable game since the original Gold and Silver.

I've got Tornadus now, dhelor. Lemme know when's good.

I'll pop in the trade room now.

I'm pretty sure you can trade older pokemon between two copies of Black/White, you just can't transfer from P/D/Pl/HG/SS to B/W until the game is beaten.

EDIT: That Tornadus is one ugly green muthafuggah ain't he? Not that Thundurus is much better.

They're both kinda silly looking, but Thundurus looks way better than Tornadus <,<

Jeebus.

Obirano's clearly with Plasma.

Bah, after 3-4 hours (and one fainted accident, stupid critical hit) I have finally caught on Emolga. It happened to be a female, so if anyone else would like to be spared the aggravation and repels let me know.

I read that as Obama at first and was thoroughly confused.

EDIT: And then I remembered this:

EDIT 2: Bah image link died. Here's a video.

There's an NPC that'll trade you an Emolga for a Boldore. That's what I did. They're a pain.

You do realize that there's a guy in game that will trade you an Emolga for a Boldore, don't you? He's in the first house you come across in Route 7.

EDIT: TANNHAUSERED. Grr.

So can I use WPA on the 3DS with this game?

Baron Of Hell wrote:

Yeah, WPA is supported (according to what I've read at least).

Just saw the credits roll, hell of a ride. 72 hours to completion. Probably about 10 of that was idling with the DS charging, etc, but still. That's a lot of game for my dollar. I'm guessing the post-game will add at least twenty more to it.

Scrounging around in my copies of SoulSilver and Pearl for any pokemon that are in those games that I missed. Little hard going considering I sent all my really powerful pokemon off to White. What kind of sucks is that I forgot I had a ton of PP Ups, Rare Candys, and various stat increasing items on both of them.

And all the damn Nuggets I had collected from my copy of Sapphire (I swear, I got one every 5 fights with my Zigzagoon in my party). I think I have 25 sitting on one of my games. That makes me a sad panda - which makes me think... why is there no panda based pokemon? Seems like an obvious one to have.

I think I've nearly got the Kanto section of the pokedex finished, and the Sinnoh section's pretty full too.

I just had a long session of transferring from Pearl to Black. Why on earth do they make you play that silly minigame to do it? I don't think I'll be finishing the dex, it's never been a concern for me really.

Anyway, I'm glad you reminded me to keep a worthy team to catch whatever I don't have. And to use stat-ups before I send em over. I don't suppose there's a way to transfer money, though, as whatever items they're wearing are left behind.

I need to actually finish SoulSilver before I start transferring stuff over. That game is really long IIRC, with both the original and second gen locales and gym leaders stuffed in.

Baron Of Hell wrote:

I can't say this for sure, but my best guess is yes.

My router is usually set with WPA2, but when I put Pokemon Pearl in the 3DS it wouldn't take. That made me figure that you needed WEP still for DS settings, but I was pretty sure I read that DSi supported newer forms.

This bit from wikipedia makes me think that older games like Pearl won't work with WPA/2 but Black and White may:

[quote]he DSi supports WEP, WPA (AES/TKIP) and WPA2 (AES/TKIP) wireless encryption; only software with built-in support may use the latter two encryption types, as they were not supported by the DS and DS Lite.

Definitely digging the level spike in the postgame. I always had something of an issue with Pokemon games, where you spend so long building your team up and in the end there's not enough challenge for them. Not so here. I also think I may try battling online at the level 50 stuff this time, who knows.

The level spike did cement my decision to farm Pearl and finish SoulSilver, though. There's some useful pokemon in there, and I want multiple solid teams for the latter half of Black.

I've got so many pokemon, I'm gonna start making theme parties. My first is a chess themed party, including Pawniard, Bisharp, Slowking/Nidoking, Vespiquen/Nidoqueen, and Escavelier. I just have to figure out who to put in there for the rook...

EDIT: Hmm... maybe a Rampardos...

That's more creative than mine. I was thinking to sweep through with a team of all Dragon type legendaries if possible, but I'd like to get a Kyurem sometime before then. Do you have him yet, dhelor? I bet if I saw one I could snag it off the GTS using bait from my older games.

Yeah, I do. He's fairly easy to catch though, I used my level 75 (at the time) Cobalion to get him. Took a few Dusk Balls but I got him, with no status effects either.

That being said, I have no problem doing a couple trades so you can get him in your pokedex. I'll pop in there in a couple minutes and idle for you.
