2012 MLB Season Discussion: Off-Season

Is there anyone who hasn't hit a HR for the Orioles tonight? I think Cal Ripkin Jr even suited up and knocked one out.

Mark Reynolds may have saved my fantasy season. A very nice play tonight 8-)

Way to go O's!!!
The only thing close to the love of my Red Sox is my hate of the Yankees. Not as individuals, but as a team.

Now of TB can only get the Wild Card...

Rays in the 11th with Texas now. 1-1.

Looks like Baltimore lost to the Yankees. Hopefully they can get the next two and win the weekend series at least.

EDIT: Woo, HR Zobrist bottom of 11th!

If the Orioles make the postseason it'll be a miracle as the bullpen has looked shaky lately and now Nick Markakis has a broken hand. Great.

At least they won tonight.

Rays went into extra innings with Texas again. BJ Upton has what should have been the 3rd out fly ball go off his glove right at the wall, and then the inning goes on and Texas scored 2. Really terrible the way those things fall apart. He looked down to check his feet at the warning track and just lost a half step on the ball. Tough play, and then instead of still tied in the bottom of the 10th, they're down 2. Still the tying run made it on and a couple of terrible ball/strike calls marred the last at bat for the Rays.

Hopefully they can bounce back tomorrow afternoon and take the series at least. 2 full games back of everyone right now for the wild card or division. One win will put them back within one of Bal/NY, whoever loses tomorrow. Don't ever want to get too far out of it.

My Fantasy season was saved by Kris Medlin, Brett Anderson and AJ Griffin. Combined ERA of under 1.0 in August. Got lucky and got them all 3 off waivers as soon as they were reinserted or switched to a starter.

Now I just need Kinsler, Gonzo and Elsbury to hit well the last 2 weeks of the season and I have a chance to win.

Rays stunk it up last night. Stupid Orioles. :p

Attention NL: Phillies are now back at .500, and 4 games back of the 2nd Wild Card.

I have just probably jinxed them.................................

Two words: Manny Machado

Rays and Orioles in the 12th now. So much for afternoon baseball, it will be night soon enough.

Rays need to sweep the Yankees this weekend.

If they don't take 2/3 then it will be almost impossible for sure.

Yeah 5 back with 16 to play would be ugly. 3 back is much more doable.

A sweep to get to 1 back would be ideal. But who knows what Baltimore will do?

Lose 2/3 in Oakland?

Yeah we might need that to happen...

I don't know how this will all pan out, but Showalter is the toast of the town.

Well the Rays did what they needed to tonight.

Looks like Oakland is winning in the 7th.

You're welcome Stele.

You know there's only so many wildcards. Why don't you guys just take the division from Texas instead?

I mean you do have 7 games left against them. Should be do-able, right?

i think we will take the division. espn still is referring to the O's as the team of destiny. Oakland is that team and the AL West is the best division in baseball. Let's Go Oakland! go for the sweep!

3 of 4 to the Astros, really Philadelphia?

I believe Houston just supplied the Phillies with a fork.

Yea, the Astros took 2 of 3 from the Reds in Cincinnati a couple weekends ago. They must be playing some decent baseball right now.

...

Did I just really say that?

Stupid Rays.

Scored 7 runs combined in the last 2 games and they just scored 7 runs in the 6th inning tonight. Maybe that means they're finally back on track, but dammit, spread that out a bit and you might win some games instead of losing 7 of the last 8.

Feast or famine offense last couple of years. They really need to address that in the offseason.

Big doubleheader win for the Yanks.

At this point, Girardi just needs to let Andruw Jones disappear on the bench and start Ichiro every day. Bat Nunez DH and second against lefties and use Chavez against righties.

At the Rays game. Star Trek night. Will try to post some Klingon pics later.

That's great news.

Huh, it turns out this is at his behest. That's somewhat respectable.
