The Impact of ACA on Business Costs

Dewey's Pizza. It's totally worth the drive.

Good, great even, but not great enough when the goal is food with minimal effort.

Didn't Tony Bourdain have to go to Viet Nam or Thailand (...and Thailand?) to get that particular treat? My, how times change...

Pizza Hut. If I never see another one of those, it'll be too soon.

I do like their wings though, but yeah, agreed on the pizza part at least.

Or Dominoes, Little Caesar's, Round Table...

I wish Pizza Schmizza would start delivering around here. My options for delivery here are the chains and a $30/pie local place(pretty good, but about $10 too much for the size/topping quantities). Oh, for an Abby's or Papa Fultano's in the area.

Bah, I was thinking of them when I put in Round Table. Godfather's is also awful. I'd rather get a Totino's than pay $18 for their atrocious offerings.

+1 for Pizza Rolls. God help me, I do love them so.

Thankfully I live 4 blocks from not one but two local joints that are pretty good.

I need names. I'm assuming one is Home Slice.

Agreed. I kind of want some now if I didn't feel so lousy today.

People who think Home Slice is amazing immediately go on my "I'm such an Austin person!!!!" snobbery blacklist. Home Slice is alright, bolstered by the fact it's one of those local places people like to talk about going to and be seen at so they can establish their Austin-ness cred.

I used to order PJ's mostly because it was cheap and the delivery station is nearby so it was quick, too. I was never a huge fan, so this got me exploring some other corporate options out of curiosity. Domino's apparently was not joking with their image change of actually trying to make good pizza. Their thin crust is no longer horrifically offensive.

Well, sh*t, you've got me pegged. I'm a pizza hipster.

It's not amazing, but it's better than most around here. Reale's is amazing.

Pfft. Be a real hipster - pizza is too mainstream.

Burned my mouth because I ate it before it was cool.

Calzones are what real pizza enthusiasts eat.

I mean, if you care, I guess.

(/hairflip)

I have not been to Reale's yet, though. I think Austin has an Italian food deficiency in general, now that I think about it. The best I've gotten here is just alright, which is surprising given all the ridiculously good local joints across the food spectrum.

... I think I'm done adding to the derail, though. Sorry!

Southside flying being the other one. I like their meatball subs.

Re:Bloo_Driver
Well it helps that they are close to work and home for me.
East side pies up north is pretty good, but on the whole I agree about the general dearth of good Italian here.

Yeah, we seems to have a weird derail thing going in P&C lately. Linguistics discussions, now pizza discussions. We are officially weird in this forum.

Should we rename the forum P, C n' W?

I thought it was implied?

Thanks for the recommendation. Best meatball sub I've found in town. Little spicy, little sweet, crusty italian roll, and tender meatballs. They did look at me funny when I shouted "I'm such an Austin person!!!!", but they knew who's the boss.

I dropped Papa Johns a few months ago because of this in favor of Garlic Jim's up here in the Seattle area. Damn good pizza.

Stalk the mop, or mock the talk. Can't decide! What a crock.

Very good choice. Speaking of which, we need to get together for and introduce you to the rest of the PNW crew.

Indeed.

We tried their pizza on a whim (of finding a local place to support over PJ's). My god, basil pesto sauce and roasted garlic.. simply awesome.

I guess the fascist who started Domino's is no longer the owner, but still. Talk about needing an image change. They were Chik-fil-A when Chik-fil-A were harmlessly pious kooks.
