Windows 8 compatible TV tuner?

Howdy, all. Do any of you currently use an external USB TV tuner with Windows 8? I'm looking to pick up an inexpensive one to use with an amplified OTA antenna, but so far it's been difficult to verify which ones work with Win 8. I do have the Pro version, so I'll be using Windows Media Center instead of whatever proprietary software that comes with the tuner (and negative customer reviews of several of these devices tend to focus on the software). I'm looking at a Diamond ATI Theater HD 750, and from what I can tell people who use it with WMC in Win 7 seem satisfied. So far, most everything that worked for me in Win 7 is also working in 8, but I'd prefer some confirmation that it will work with Win 8. Anyone?

I haven't upgraded to Win 8, as it's not really an improvement for Win 7, but for OTA, I really like my HDHomeRun dual tuner over ethernet. They have Win 8 drivers I think. I know they do for the HDHomeRun Prime (CableCard). I assume the regular will either work now or will soon.

Thanks! Do I understand correctly that it connects to your computer solely via ethernet, no USB involved? Maybe I'll just cough up the extra money for that one, since NewEgg does list it as being Win 8 compatible. I mainly want one to connect to my OTA antenna so that I can record TV and watch live broadcasts via media extenders (xboxes).

Right, it's two tuners, and you just plug it into your network somewhere. You can also share it between multiple PCs, at least with Win 7. It has some prioritization software that assigns the tuners if multiple PCs are attached to it.

I've seen it on sale several times lately for $60-$70, so look around.

Nice. Thanks again.

I purchased an HDHomeRun unit, and it works great. Setup was super simple, and it works equally well with my Win8 desktop & my Win7 laptops. Better than the reception was with the same antenna connected directly to TV. It's really nice to have local HD television on all of my sets, especially the older plasma model that doesn't have a built-in tuner.

Glad it worked out.
