Silver Ball Museum recovering from Hurricane Sandy

The Silver Ball Museum in Asbury Park took a good deal of damage, but the water levels didn't reach cabinet levels for the pinball machines, and the translites and glasses were for the most part not damaged. They say Asbury Park sustained less damage than other locations on the Jersey Shore. Some good news from an area smacked around by Hurricane Sandy:

Every day we’re making progress and getting closer to reopening the Museum. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back! There have been some delays this week in getting parts for our building’s main electrical system, but contractors and technicians from the utility company have been working long and hard hours in the basement and their job is almost completed now. We hope to have power restored by early next week. This will be a huge step forward as it will allow us to heat the Museum, which in turn makes it possible for the drywall contractors to continue with the next phase of their work on our interior walls. Our electrician will also be back to finish rebuilding the Museum’s damaged electrical outlets as soon as the lights come on.

We hope to reopen in early December, but due to many factors beyond our control we cannot establish a firm date yet. Please check back here for updates.

Send in Nucky.
