NFL 2012 Week 11 Thread

Hey. Kid has an arm.

Randy Moss evidently just found out.

Yikes.

Took SF to win but under 34... I have been primed on Kaepernick from reading here but thought the Bears would shut down the redzone...

I dread Kaepernick succeeding, just because every nickname I imagine Chris Berman vomiting out is more annoying than the last.

They should probably pull him out so he doesn't get hurt for the next game

Aw. Smart play slapping the ball out of bounds there.

Er, that's a penalty?

Hehe. It would have been 4th down anyway.

McCown sighting.

Er, that's a penalty? :?

My thoughts exactly.

Kapy for President!

WHAT?! 4th and 29 becomes 1st and 10 for the Bears?!

Refs trying to ruin the shutout. And jowners bet. Jerks. :p

So that sack and forced fumble get stripped from the box-score?

Just saw video of the 57-yard Kaepernick to Williams toss. Wow. Just as good as the Freeman-to-Jackson throw in the TB game.

Colin loves Vernon Davis. I feel like my fantasy team can rally to finish the season now.

That's the amazing thing though. It really is that folksy. The stadium is in the middle of a real neighborhood. Some people pay their mortgages from what they charge to park on their lawns.

I went to Green Bay for a Chiefs game, so I understand exactly what you mean. It felt like a college town atmosphere. And fans were so nice it was almost creepy. I mean, we were getting pats on the back on the way out after the chiefs pulled off a 4th quarter comeback and won in OT. They genuinely just wanted us to leave Lambeau having had a great time.

I felt like at some point we were going to be lured into a ritual where were would be turned into brats.

Aw, that should be a safety.

EDIT: Apparently it will be. Good challenge.

Man, I feel bad for Campbell. And Harbaugh definitely should have challenged.

So how many 5-0's this week? I know Sheared and I are both 5-0, and we will be tied for first for a second straight week.

5-0 for the 2nd week in a row for me.

Me!

And it feels like 6-0 since I got to pick my 49ers.

Better than Dallas (or whatever city Jerryworld is legally in). That place is in the inner-city ghetto.

Have you ever been to Arlington? I don't think inner city ghetto is an accurate description. Especially around Six Flags, The Ballpark, and Cowboys Stadium.

Hate to rain on the 5-0 parade but it was an easy week.

6 people went 14-0 in my pool this week...

Maybe, but 4 of the 5 games were a TD or less, and 2 of those 4 in OT. It could have been a weird week.

Yea... most people took TB and still won that game some how.

Just saying it was one of those weeks where the way the games lined up everyone was picking the same.

I had 1 lose going into the late game Sunday and knew I was out of the running. I knew a bunch of people would of had my exact picks but somehow talked themselves into taking the Jets...

As for next week? yikes... Bears Minny? Redskins Cowboys? Bills Colts? QBless Pitt vs Browns? Falcons Bucs? Jags Titans? Rams Cards? 49ers Saints? Panthers Eagles?

At least I know I'm taking the Pack in the f*ck you rematch vs the Giants.

I'd have gone 5-0 this week if I'd gone with my head, but I went with my heart and my Bears let me down... for the second week in a row.

I stopped watching once it got to 27-0. I keep wishing they would pay a freaking offensive lineman or two. Other than Garza, I'm not sure if there is a decent lineman on the roster.

I was disappointed in the Bears' defensive play, and extremely impressed by Kaepernick. He was smart, patient, and pretty accurate. I think it's hard to not keep playing him, he has the potential to be the future of your franchise, something Alex Smith doesn't really have. It's hard to say much from a single game, but he picked apart a very strong Bears defense.

San Francisco is an example of what happens when you invest three 1st round picks on offensive linemen.

Kaepernick was awesome, he truly is The One, but a lot of this breakout performance was due to how well the Niner line kept the Bears pass rush at bay. They forced the Bears to blitz in order to get any pressure, and then Kaepernick did his job by recognizing the blitzes and hitting the hot routes or audibling into a more favorable play.

Speaking of those 1st round linemen, Anthony Davis has gotten a whole lot better since the 2010 draft. I thought he was a reach at #11 overall, and he wasn't dominant early on. He's becoming a hell of a right tackle. Playing next to Iupati no doubt helps, too.

Kapernick looked really good on his reads, but I'm still interested going forward seeing how he will react when the O line doesn't protect so well. Looks like a quarterback controversy in SF is here.

He's still a young QB and no doubt has lots of improving in areas like that still to come. And he does have that "escape ability".

It's a tricky situation. For most teams, I would say, you start Kaepernick because he could be the team's long-term QB answer, and Smith is not.

But with this team, Smith is "good enough" to quite possibly win a Super Bowl. Then again, last year, they lacked the offensive firepower to get over the hump. The offense obviously has the potential to be a lot more dangerous with Kaepernick, not only with his ability to run but his downfield throwing ability. But, Kaepernick is due to have some ups and downs as he grows into the starting role.

I think allowing him to sit as the backup for maybe another year is just going to help him out all the more. The Niners have the luxury to develop Kaeperkick and should take advantage of it; they are one of the few legit contenders this year. Then starting in 2014, he will be a massive stud for 10 years, especially with a good, young O-line that develops with him. The Niners have the makings of the next NFL dynasty on their hands if they just can keep from getting too short-term focused.

He should start next year. Smith will be gone and he'll have been in the system long enough. The main things that worry me with the 49ers is that it'll eventually be too expensive to keep all that talent on defense and Frank Gore's days are numbered. Do the 49ers have a workhorse replacement?

I was at Cowboys Stadium a couple years ago when the Aggies played LSU.

Each team has beaten the team next to it. Probably could do this for every year but the Lions 0-16 season.
