It's actually really informative, that website is pretty useful!
She thinks she missed the train to mars, using Google counting stars.
It looks like Comet ISON isoff. It seems to have broken up completely today while rounding the Sun. I blame the Kraken.
Yeah, that sucks. I was looking forward to it.
I blame the metric system. AGAIN!
Still sounds like they're not entirely sure what condition it is in.
Don't worry. Rosetta is still on! (Or at least, until it doesn't wake up in January...)
Still sounds like they're not entirely sure what condition it is in. :?
Yeah, I've still got my fingers crossed.
On a related note, the only cross word uttered at the Thanksgiving dinner table yesterday was when my wife told me to put my damn phone away while I was trying to check on Ison during dessert.
Bummer about ISON, I just was gifted a telescope yesterday. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to getting started with that.
Rosetta looks cool, I was unaware.
I'm pretty sad about the lack of ISON. I was going to have 2 clear days on the water on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the comet with my morning steam to the fishing grounds.
Seems it's not dead after all. (http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/pa...)

Possible evidence for other universes.
However, a few weeks ago, scientists published a new map of the cosmic microwave background – the ‘radiation’ left behind after the Big Bang that created the universe 13.8 billion years ago.The map, based on Planck data, showed anomalies in the background radiation that, some experts say, could only have been caused by the gravitational pull of other universes outside our own.

China puts a rover on the moon.
Which has the Chinese batting .500 this week: http://www.space.com/23895-china-rocket-launch-failure-destroys-satellite.html
But in all seriousness, best of luck to them.
China puts a rover on the moon.
Ooo, congrats to them!
I found a photo:
I found a photo:
Can't China do anything right? That rover isn't even 30 feet tall and upside down!

China totally didn't go to the moon, they just proved we really didn't, and now we're bringing them into the conspiracy.

While I fully agree that it's a damn shame that the US government all but adandoned the space program in the decades after the moon landing, I don't quite agree with the artist's notion that we need to "get off our asses," considering NASA landed two rovers on Mars about 10 years ago. The time when we needed to get off our asses was during the 80s and 90s, not now.
Also, let's not forget SpaceX, Virgin Galactic and Planetary Resources (asteroid mining).
I'll just crosspost this here...
Massive spending on space programs is the only expression of nationalism that I can get behind. I'd much rather see NASA getting $800 billion a year than the Pentagon.

All run privately, and in the case of the second and third, to make money, not further humanity/science beyond the scope of making money... as I understand it, anyway.
Planetary Resources does have furthering of science/humanity as one of its goals. Yes, money making is a reality. Without promising money making you couldn't get billion dollar funding these days. But I think that Peter Diamantis has ulterior motives, other than money making.
I'm just saying that the reality right now is that commerical exploitation is the way forward for space exploration. Governments have more terrestrial concerns.

Teaser trailer indeed... I have no idea what that's about.

I'm still hoping NASA takes MovieBob's advice. Pretend we found oil on Mars and see how quickly we raise the money to go there in person.
