New England S&T - Pinball Wizard (Pelham, NH) - 11/10/2012

Making a dedicated thread for this to promote the meetup and to consolidate the information out of the Boston thread.

Where: Pinball Wizard (Google Map)
When: Starting around 1-ish PM EST* - ?
Why: Come join us for a fun filled day of pinball and retro gaming!

Q&A
What's this "1-sh" thing?
A couple of us have expressed interest in meeting earlier for lunch (between 12 and 1) over at nearby Suppas Pizza (Google Map). Their Lowell, MA location menu indicates it should be fairly standard subs and pizza. After lunch we'll head over to Pinball Wizard proper.

How will we find other GWJers?
I've not been to PW before, so I don't know of a good place inside the venue to meet. Hopefully someone can pick a spot to meet. If not, I guess we can describe what we'll be wearing that day and try for the best?

I'll be aiming to get to the pizza place at noon. You can look for a lanky ginger in a MLG Columbus t-shirt. I'm also likely to be reading if I get there first.

I will hopefully be able to make it out there. I may be going to San Jose on a business trip on Sunday but my boss hasn't decided yet, but so far it looks like I'm not going. It would be nice to see and meet some of the people that are going to PAX beforehand.

Would almost consider an 8 hour drive for a pinball meet.
Pretty sure my wife wouldn't.

Looks like a clean place

I've been there 4 or 5 times, it's a real great place to visit and none of the games are insanely priced so it takes awhile to go through 20 bucks. I brought my niece and nephew when they were up from Florida and made my sister (their mom) jealous because she is a huge fan of pinball.

I'll try to make it, but I'll have to figure out logistics before. I've been wanting to go for a while.

depending on if/how long I have to work Saturday, I'd be up for pinball. I'll know more tomorrow after work.

I'm in, shooting to be at Suppas around noon-ish.

Look for the ginger with a beard and some kind of bad-ass hat.

GRRRR...

I have a swim meet (or rather, my son does) which pretty much traps me in Western MA for the entire day. Blarg. I could use a day in Pelham.

There's pools in Pelham.

I also hear there this cold running around the region. Just sayin'

(I'm sure we'll do this again since some people can't make it)

Looks like I'm not going to be able to make it today. Maybe next time we can do some sort of carpool/zipcar share thing?

Can't come because you don't have a way to get there? :\

Sorta, but I also have a fair bit of work to get done so this weekend's out. Next time I can do a zipcar to get there, but I was thinking it'd be nice if we could do the ride sharing. I'd be happy to pay for gas and such too then if I wasn't driving. Anyway, have fun everyone!

Thanks to those who were able to make it today! Had a good time, and getting to see Wreck-it Ralph was an excellent way to end the meet.

Next time we'll try and get this organized a little better with rides and getting word out a bit sooner.

I had a lot of fun. Nice meeting everyone. I ran into some brutal traffic where 95 meets 93 on the way home though. 40 minutes from the 93 exit to the 95 entrance. I'm looking forward to the next meetup and my eventual return to Pinball Wizard.

Had a blast meeting you two!

Sorry to hear about the traffic Solid, usually there's only traffic on 93/95 in Woburn during the weekday commute, must have been some construction work or something else going on.

Yeah that was pretty brutal. It sucks that you were caught in it.

On the weekend you can usually blow right Boston proper on 93 without much trouble (unless there's a game at the Garden) and pick up 95 on the other side of the city (assuming you're not pressed for time). Alternatively, take 93 to Medford as Route 16 West connects to I-95 by way of Route 2. Neither of those options are as direct as 93->95, but 95 is a hellhole and the 93/95 interchange is notoriously backed up.

I'll go 93->16 next time. Thanks.

I remember Pinball Wizard having Tapper, branded with a Budweiser logo, being there. I was under the impression that these were rather rare and worth a good chunk of money. I tried googling to find out whether or not my memory served me accurately, but my google-fu failed me. Anyone know how to find out how rare/valuable arcade cabinets are?
