Salesforce thoughts?

Had a colleague ping me asking what people think of Salesforce. I haven't had much experience with it, but I bet other goodjers have. Anyone care to share?

We are apparently migrating to infusionsoft from salesforce right now - I've got zero experience with either of them except helping to install plugins for Outlook.

The only thought I've got is you should be on your knees thanking a gifting God they're not sticking you with Microsoft Dynamics.

Note lack of smiley.

We have steadily ramped up to almost complete Salesforce domination in my company. My SVP even gave a speech at Dreamforce this year (let's see if you can guess where I work ). I've come around to enjoying it's quirks, and am scheduled to be "certified" as an admin on it by mid-2013. Warning though, if you hate facebook, and social networking in general, turn off chatter!

I used/use SalesForce and it is a powerful CRM tool but it's a beast on the machine I had at work. It was very slow and a little unwieldy. Depending on what you want to do and how much work you want to put it, it can be good/or bad.

I am involved in a substantial Salesforce implementation at my company right now. The internal CRM piece has already been delivered and has been received with a lot of positive feedback from our sales and support teams. It probably helps that we moved off of an old Siebel system that was spit from the maw of hell. Anything would have been an improvement from what we had. The largest issue we encountered was cleaning up a substantial amount of dirty data before moving forward with SF (This would have been a difficult job no matter what system we moved to). I am currently working on a customer facing piece (support and knowledgebase) and that has been less pleasant to work with. Trying to wrestle the Salesforce 'default' into something usable/intuitive for customers has been a challenge.

I wish I didn't know how right you are
