Main International GWJ Day

What I can provide:

  • My brother and I live in a 3 bedroom town home in Lynnwood and have room for about 15 people.
  • Room enough for 2 to 3 tabletop gaming areas, and I'll rent a couple of inexpensive 30x30 square tables with chairs to accommodate.
  • A media entertainment system for movies and music.
  • An Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Rock Band and Sing Star capable.
  • Wireless internet.
  • A Kitchen, stove and microwave to cook meals.
  • A refrigerator to keep food stuff cool.

Things to note:

  • There are two short hair cats that are mostly OK with crowds, but will try to accommodate for the allergic.
  • We won't have much in the line of food or drink, but there are a few grocery stores, drive-thrus and restaurants a short drive away.
  • We're responsible with our alcohol consumption and will expect guests would be also.
  • We don't have much of a patio to enjoy the outdoors, but can BBQ if the weather permits.
  • The area is a small gated community with some guest parking, for about 6 cars or so, but we also have room for two cars in our driveway.

Good luck, man. Hope it turns out well!

I answered the questionnaire. Feel free to ping me for stuff you want brought/done and I'll see what I can do.

And yes, we will bring one can of that stuff, and the bnpederson monkey.

Filled out the questionnaire, super excited to see everybody on the 27th!

that stuff

Eeeeeww. *giggle*

Survey... check.

Wife and I just RSVP'd! We're excited to meet everyone.

Since I've never been to an S&T before, what's the usual timeframe on these? Are people generally hanging out all day, or is it more of an evening type thing? I may not be able to come until later in the day.

Having moved to the Seattle area two weeks ago I'm tempted, but may have to work.

Tekman: are you still at the same place you lived last year (in Bothell)? Planning on sending out directions?

I'm baking pies today for tomorrow: apple and pumpkin are inbound!

Do we want a batch of my pasta w/meat sauce, a chili, a big pot of my infamous baked potato soup, or another stew?

Really bummed I'm going to miss this! I'll be in Portland celebrating my brother's 40th birthday.

Oh Momgamer, that soup sounds incredible..

okay. It also has the distinction of being easy

Just so you know, its not vegetarian - there's bacon in it.

Are there any dietary special needs I need to look out for?

I'm assuming since the OP says Lynnwood, it's a different place. Either way, I'm going to need directions, too.

And now I feel like a slacker, since I don't have any awesome pies or soup to bring... Like I said, I've never been to one of these before, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Updates:

* I've updated the original post with the time of the event. It will run throughout the day and evening. I realize I hadn't asked in the questionnaire when you're coming, but you can state here.
* I will send via PM to confirmed guests how to get to my place.
* We do have a basic compliment to Rock Band, but if you have a favorite axe (mic, guitar) you're welcome to bring it.
* You're welcome to bring food to share or just for yourself (ie food allergies, etc.), but you're not obligated. Again, we will have some food but there are places that are a short drive away for eats and groceries.

I'm the wheat-free one... I think you used rice flour or tapioca last time? Thanks

I did. Rice flour, and some dehydrated mashed potatoes for body. Did that work out?

It was teh yummy

Wish I could make it.

Awesome. So then you know of what we speak. And the bread bowls are right-out.

Or I wonder if I could get a bacon-bowl fluid tight?

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make that work. All I'm coming up with is ideas that will put me into a diabetic coma, though.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow. Hope you all have a good time. Play a round of Guillotine for me!

We will be in later during the day and won't have time to cook something (we're butchering a whole lamb this morning). I can bring a case or two of beer to share if that's OK.

I'm running late, too. Going to be another couple hours. My younger son, the king forever of good decision making, brought home a drunken friend from the Firepit. The rest of the story is going in the Loathe thread.

And now I'm stuck in a Les Schwab with a flat front tire. :[

Starting to feel like one of Custer's lieutenants here.

Awww, this is today? I have WAY too much stuff to get done.

We just finished the butchering of the lamb (photos). We will be there in bit after we clean up.

Probably not going to make it some out of town friends showed up unexpectedly, so we'll be spending the evening with them.

I'm sorry guys, but if you haven't guessed already I'm not going to make it. After all the car-nonsense I thought I had a ride, but she fell through. So I'm going to have to be with you in spirit, on the Minecraft server.

Sounds brutal Momgamer, we're sending you good vibes.

I appreciate it. I owe you guys a party, so we can break in this new apartment, too.
