Arrow: New CW show to replace Smallville

Holy sh*t, Arrow.

Yup.

This is a "I will own this on Blu-Ray" TV show at this point.

I figured she was marked as soon as she admitted she knew, but I didn't expect it so suddenly or savagely.

Well, that episode certainly changed the status quo a lot.

Don't let your sons grow up to be vigilantes.

Wow.

That was... wow.

I didn't see that coming! Well done! Right before she could tell them about Merlin still being alive. I assume that's what she was about to tell them.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

My roommate and I are predicting there's going to be a big good-versus-bad showdown at the end of the season. Sarah is fetching her League of Shadows contacts, at the very least, and I wouldn't be surprised if they premiere one Barry Allan in the season finale, and part of me is hopeful to see more use of the Suicide Squad and Huntress.

That's a guess, though. It just seems to make sense in a super-hero DBZ kind of way.

I'm psyched.

Technically, though, that would be bad-vs.-bad, as the League are bad guys. I'm not going to object to Sara bringing them, though, because Ra's f*cken rules.

I really hope that Thea is the one to put Merlin down, but I bet she just shot the Deathstroke wannabe instead.

She totally did.

Good episode, though. First one in a long time that didn't make me want to push Laurel down some stairs.

It ended much too soon! I thought this was the season finale. I guess next week is. Gah!

I like how Summer Glau is now one of her stereotypical characters. Swords!

So in the past couple weeks that I've been sick I've blasted my way through this entire show from start to the latest episode. What a surprisingly good show. I loved the introduction of the Black Canary with her canary call, though I must admit I'm not sure I'm happy with the girl who plays her. I can't get over that chin dimple.

It's not quite a great show, but it really scratches that DC itch.

Better her than the actress that plays Laurel.

And from that she's now back to the most comfortable I've seen her in all her roles since Firefly. Even when they try to make her characters a bad-ass, she's either not allowed to show any much emotion (Terminator: TSCC) or a reluctant bad-ass (Hawaii 5-0 guest spot). In shows she was a regular in (The cape, Dollhouse) she wasn't a fighting badass, so don't count.

I really hope she sticks around to be a recurring villain. Like how Huntress and China White were.

Y'know, neither can my roommate. Meanwhile, all I can think is that they should advertise whatever company makes her push-up bras in the end credits, like how a band will advertise what brand of drums and cymbals the percussionist uses. Because damn.

ARROWED MOTHERf*ckER!

Edit: Then, in the last five minutes:

?

Regardless, 10/10, would arrow again.

I was disappointed we didn't see a Flash cameo! Oh well.

I am not a fan of Walher at all. To clarify, I am not a fan of that character in any form I have ever seen her played. Just a terrible character as far as I am concerned.

I'm not sure, did they just retconn the entire island story in the last five minutes? I think they did.

Don't get me wrong Arrow has been walking back from their Lost/Dark Knight Rising combo-theme they had going on in the first season since halfway through the first season but now we get flashbacks of Hong Kong.

Also tonight, our first flashback of a season already in progress, actually two since they had to remind those not watching regularly that his house was bugged.

No, Oliver was just lying about being only on the island for the past 5 years. They had this setup from the first episode.

Yep. Right from the get go there was things in Oliver's skillset that just didn't match being just on the Island for the full 5 years. Which begs the question of how did he end up back there to be rescued at the start of the series?

Apart from Flyer's army of mercs, crashed landed special ops solider, Chinese former general with daughter, sunken Japanese sub and the ship of a mad scientist with prisoners - that ARGUS hatch as to have there before and been built for a reason.

Perhaps we will get to see the falling out between Oliver and Waller that has already been alluded to; it could have been Oliver himself that was supposed to been imprisoned down there by Waller for something he did.

EDIT: And Amell just broke the news on a guest star made series regular for next season

Spoiler:

John Barrowman

My fear for the life and livelihood of Detective/Officer Lance. Without him, how will we know who is and isn't mobbed up to their eyeballs?

I'm really curious if Thea's going to become a villain of sorts. Really not sure what's going to happen there.

I still call bullsh*t. I mean, I grew to accept the whole "Oh Sarah was still alive and is on the island!" crap because it was part of the backbone to the whole season, but that's just effin' dumb. Dumby dumb dumb. But I guess they can't just stop the flashbacks now, can they? Even if, at this point, there's little reason to persist with them.

So uh, how's Slade gonna eat?

She's seriously an ends-justifies-the-means person (like Magneto) when it comes to her job, although I like to think there's a kernel of truth/canon about her in the JLU episode, "Epilogue". Netflix Instant Watch puts it at the end of the first season, and it's largely a standalone episode built around Bruce Wayne's successor as Batman, but heavily featuring an older Waller.

It does feature one of Batman's finest moments of the entire Bruce Timm universe. So much so that it changed Wahler forever.
