Arrow: New CW show to replace Smallville

Merlin is at least getting a spin-off comic, I thought I read somewhere. I would say he's probably safe.

My votes are (A) Lance or (B) Felicity's mom. The second one seems a very Arrow-esque thing, as it won't really change the status quo, yet gives Oliver yet something else to be all mopey about.

Sara is in Legends of Tomorrow, so she's safe. Maybe, unless White Canary in that is parallel universe Sara.

Dan makes good points, I don't think anyone from Team Arrow proper is going to bite it.

Felicitys mom is a really good guess. Could also be Diggles brother and Oliver feels responsible. Or on a long shot, Thea.

He just got back from the dead, though. So did Thea. And Oliver. And Ray. And...maybe it's time for someone new to get killed off?

Barry comes to visit and gets killed.

He time traveled into the future to apologize to Oliver over his own grave. I think we have a winner.

It's really the only thing that makes sense.

Barry is nothing if not polite.

Holy resurrections Batman, I didn't think about that before. There really is a whole lot of returning from the dead isn't there?

Oliver (kind of twice)
Sara (kind of twice)
Thea
Ray

I guess we should really look at the scene of Oliver at the grave GINORMOUSLY skeptical eyes

Nah, I say it's still Felicity, but they'll get Earth 2 Felicity to come over so it'll be like nothing happened.

"I was going to go with Oracle but it was taken."

=)

I quite enjoyed it, but I still giggled a fair bit because Dig looked two feet taller than Andy is some shots.

I think he IS 2 feet taller. Andy is wicked small, I think.

Ollie had some pretty amazing lines this episode. I enjoyed it a lot.

I guess replacing her technically counts as making her walk again, and Oliver is almost bad enough at making life choices to try it.

I think both Felicities would object, though.

Honestly, I think it's much more likely that Andy is a solid and reasonable 5'10" to 6, and Dig is 8 or 9 feet tall.

But yes, Ollie was great, and not because "Bargh, why dark," because I'm not opposed to angst and darkness, but because it reflected growth.

Something that is starting to bug me at this point.

Why isn't Diggle in charge?

Oliver's company is now run by Felicity, his nightclub, if it is still open, is run by his sister. Every enterprise he has started has ended up with someone else and generally does better when he is no longer in control.

I know this is essentially a superhero soap opera, but he hasn't really shown to be a very effective leader other than IITS (It's in the script)

Diggle is a former special forces soldier who has shown to be Oliver's equal in combat, maybe with just a different set of skills, has a better strategic mind, and while he was needlessly stubborn with Oliver for awhile he has generally been in better control of his emotions.

If the show made Green Arrow the "face" of the team for the public but had Diggle actually running the show behind the scenes I could get on board with that. Oliver has certainly grown and I like his less dark turn, but he hasn't exactly been a success as a leader.

I still enjoy this dumb thing... but the flashbacks are actually getting even less interesting than they originally were. Running out of willingness to deal with them.

They broke my heart when they revealed it was just a Shado hallucination.

Vixen was awesome. Easily the highlight of that last episode. The final 2 scenes had me rolling my eyes so hard I'm now blind.

That awkward moment when you realize you slept with every woman in the room and they are all mad at you. Keep it in your pants Oliver.

On the kid thing I think Oliver made a mistake not telling Felicity but his reasoning was based on what he thought was best for the kid. I'm not even completely sure why she was mad about not being told about sending the kid off. If the kid didn't go into hiding he would have still left with his mom.

I liked the reference to Constantine and the animated Vixen cartoon. I would love to see Vixen as a regular on any of the current shows.

No idea where they are going with the flashbacks. Also what is the deal with the corn? Kind of odd that we don't know what is the main motivation of the bad guy is yet.

Because Felicity was going to be his wife, and he didn't even talk to her about it before making his choice. I don't think she was implying that she should have a say in what happens to the kid. What she is saying is that if they are going to be partners for life, presumably your best friend, how do you not even talk to her about the decision you have to make! How is her opinion not even worth asking for?

And of course the initial betrayal of not telling her about the kid. Even if she was starting to understand how hard that was for him not to say anything.

That's what I got out of it.

My current bet:

Spoiler:

The thing they uncover is the source of Darhk's power.

Slightly mitigated by what went down in this episode, but still suspect some long-term connection.

I thought that too but

Spoiler:

Darhk's been around a long time. That was only a few years ago for Ollie. I think whatever it is, it isn't tied to Darhk.

oh man.

The actress was good but "We had an animated adventure"

*groan*

Somewhere a writer needs to have their keyboard privileges suspended.

Also, never a big fan of "magic" characters because everything just gets finger waggled away because "MAGIC!" and Vixen has never been one of my favorite characters because her totem, and this is not just Arrow, basically makes her powers be whatever they need her to have.

Though with Vixen, Black Canary, Speedy, and Arrow all in the same room and then you have Flash running around out there somewhere I suggested maybe they should all form a league together and bring Justice to the world. Only one family member got the reference

I've only watched up to the break and I'll only carry on once the season ends, but I like that Arrow is going all in on magic. Otherwise they do 'sciency' babble that is just as much of a handwave, but more jarring if you're even slightly science literate.

I find 'A wizard did it' far more acceptable than 'A hacker/geneticist/nanobots did it.' Fake sciency bullsh*t is one of the things that makes Flash a bit of a struggle some times.

That's a fair point and, while a different show, I do feel like Flash sometimes doesn't follow or even try to have it's own internal logic.

Flash is always just so darn enthusiastic as a show that I'm willing to forgive it a lot more. Arrow episodes typically consist of five minutes of fighting, five minutes of dialogue, and a half-hour of Oliver looking intense and upset. It takes it self so seriously that I'm less willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

You forgot to list the ten minutes of flashbacks.
