Pencon 2012

Wife gave the thumbs up, so put me down as attending barring any major financial barriers.

I'll be coming. Just one for me. This will be my first outing in three years.

Yes, an area with hot tea and milk would be great.
I'm partial to black tea but not picky.

I'm an Earl Grey man and a Chai Tea man.

Question: Sweet Tea. I know I am considered not to be part of the south while in Florida (Ironic in a way), but I do enjoy a cup of freshly brewed sweet tea. Will there be tea brewing going on, or will it be soft drink style branded crap (sorry, but nestle isn't good)? Now, I know that people farther north are not big tea drinkers, or specifically not big sweet tea drinkers, so I would gladly take a fresh brew of non sweet tea that is piping hot so i can stir an unspecified amount of sugar within it.

You and I will get along well sir/madam. How sweet do you like your freshly brewed tea?

Add me to the proper southern sweet tea crowd. I my live in New York but my family is from Kentucky/Carolinas and I have grown up drinking a good sun brewed southern style sweet tea.

B) How sweet? Publix Sweet Tea Sweet. Give soda a rival for calorie count sweet. Though as of late I have been taking it a bit more mild sweet so I can loose weight T_T

Never heard of that.
I grew up with drinking very strong tea that had about 1 cup of sugar per gallon. Now I'm down to about 1/2 to 2/3 cup per gallon.

Publix is a supermarket chain down in the southeast - basically from Tennessee to Florida - so if you haven't done any grocery shopping down there, it's not surprising that you would have no idea who they are.

Due to their location they are also known for having great Sweet Tea. http://www.viewpoints.com/Publix-Swe...
Also as a side note, for fast food Chic-Fil-A is suppose to have really good sweet tea/lemonade as well, though personally I find their tea a 50/50 chance depending on how long it has been sitting and so forth. Sometimes it tastes like burnt coffee with sugar, other times it tastes pretty good. Publix tea on the other hand is pretty consistent in being good. If your interested I can snag a few gallons before I head up and share the first day or two until we run out. XD Just remind me before I leave.

Robes FTW!!

Anyone who would like to join me is more then welcome

I like a good sweet tea as well.

I think I still have some of the ren-fair clothes from when I worked there as a teenager... I'll see if I can get them from the storage at my dad's.

This thread has taken a weird turn.

Shh... shh, it's not weird..

Ok, now it's weird.

Well Tangle is posting in the thread, what do you expect?

Hmm... I think my vest is shot and I know the hat is gone. Can't do ren-faire clothing without those!

As long as no one creepily walks up behind me and says "I put on my robe and wizard hat", I'm fine.

Can I put on my robe and wizard hat, and then creepily walk up behind you?

10 points for your team for everyone that puts on a robe and wizard hat and creepily says things to zenke.

It is going to be right around Halloween... Does birthday suit count as a costume?

Only if you're wearing a bowtie.

I'll bring the staple gun to make sure it stays on.

Good man.

I don't think the liquor thing will be a big deal at all.

If a bunch of GWJ people want to buy each other shots (you're garunteed at least one from me) we can always convoy/cab over to a bar, take care of business, and return to the castle at our desired level of blitzed. Then we buy more discounted and legal deliciousness from Teneman. Too easy.

I'll see if I can make it.

How firm are the dates this early in the game? Safe to book flights firm?
