Riddle Me This

In the spirit of Name That Movie and Media Mashup I thought it would be fun to start a riddle thread. Here is one a student of mine gave me last week:

ALBERT EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE

ARE YOU IN THE TOP 2% OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD? SOLVE THE RIDDLE AND FIND OUT.

There are no tricks, just pure logic, so good luck and don't give up.

1. In a street there are five houses, painted five different colours.
2. In each house lives a person of different nationality
3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?

HINTS

1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water.

Answer:

Spoiler:

The German owns the fish

Ooh, logic problems! Takes me back to school.

Took about 10 minutes and a pad of paper. Full answer, assuming I didn't screw anything up:

Spoiler:

1. Yellow, Norwegian, Water, Dunhill, Cats
2. Blue, Danish, Tea, Blends, Horses
3. Red, British, Milk, Pall Mall, Birds
4. Green, German, Coffee, Prince, Fish
5. White, Swedish, Beer, Blue Master, Dogs

Nah, he's got one hand in his pocket.

Question about the riddle; because I'm probably in the bottom 5%. At least after a strong stout.

Spoiler:

Is prince a kind of fish?

Even after having it spelled out, I can't make out where the kinds of pets are specified except for dogs cats and horses.

I got the same thing but it took me 30-40 minutes. I'm impressed with 10 minutes.

And the other is...

...giving a high five?
...flicking a cigarette?
...giving the peace sign?
...playing the piano?

Awesome! I got the answer too. Which leads me to believe the 'top 2% in the world' figure is probably not correct

Or GWJers are the 1%.

there is an abstracted (using icons) version of this game that I used to play the heck out of when I was on an xp computer here: http://games.flowix.com/en/index.html

Like sudoku, but different.

The difficulty varies with the setup (which is randomized), and I can't get it to run under windows 7, but at my best, I could manage the easier ones in a hair under 2 minutes.
